Jennie's P.O.V.
"Yo", Tzuyu began, "I heard this compound has a haunted house in it. Well, not like I believe in haunted houses, but anyways, it's an old house that nobody lives in. We should go see if it's actually as scary as everyone says it is."
"Uh, Tzuyu, I...I don't think we should", Mina disapproved. I looked at her arms that hung loosely from her shoulders. I looked at how she rubbed her palms against each other, and the light reflected on them, making them shine from how sweaty they were. Her face was also slightly sweaty, and it made me feel glad she didn't have make-up on. Wow, is she really scared?
"Haha, you're scared, eh?" Momo asked, laughing slightly mockingly. "You little kid."
"I'm not", Mina said, slightly offended. "It's just that, you see...some people that lived here got arrested for entering that house."
"Sick!" Seulgi exclaimed in fascination. "It means it actually is haunted! The police is prohibiting human access to that house because they are afraid something will happen. Right?"
"It's not that-" Mina tried to continue, but was interrupted by the other people that were excited to go visit the haunted house.
Truth is, I was also excited to go see it. I probably had never entered a haunted house in my life - partly because I didn't believe in ghosts and such stuff, and partly because I never actually thought of it. Usually, on Halloween night I met up with my friends and had a party just like this year, but never did we think of visiting the "haunted" part of the compound. It was a big compound, it had many big and pretty villas with pools and everything, and it even had a huge basketball court and a ballroom for events. Only the richest citizens of Seoul could afford living here, and this is where I lived, Momo lived, Jisoo lived, and actually many other people that went to my school. It was right across the road from school, so it was easier for students to get to school.
"Anyways, let's just go", Sana shrugged. "If we'll get arrested, life's life. My parents won't even care."
"I think so too", I agreed with Sana. "I'm actually pretty sure we won't get arrested, so why-"
"Let's just go", Jisoo interrupted me briefly, and sighed. "We're spending way too much time on discussions."
We left Momo's house, jackets and hoods on, and ran to the not-so-safe part of Dongdaemun square. Once we got there, we found it kind of strange that it was so quiet, and nobody was there. Everyone was busy walking around the district, trick-or-treating, eating out and having parties in the ballroom, so nobody really cared to go to the forgotten part. It was just us on the street. Some of us - such as, obviously, Mina - were already really scared and panicked over getting arrested for entering the forbidden areas, but I didn't really care. I was excited to see what was yet to come.
Once we were in front of the well-known "haunted" house, most of my friends stood behind. I found myself awkwardly being the only one that was courageous enough to stand right in front of the entrance door, and turned around to look at my friends, hoping that at least one of them - boy or girl - would be brave enough to go in with me. I looked at their facial expressions that all showed either desperation, fear, or worry. I was starting to get weirdly scared too, but I tried to act cool.
"G-Guys", I stuttered as I took deep breaths to be able to communicate my thoughts to them, "w-why are you all behind? You're making me feel really weird to be the only one...you know...not scared." I laughed awkwardly hoping to have made a change, but no chance. They all had the same stoned facial expressions.
"Guys, please", I sighed. "We didn't walk all the way here to only stand in front of the house like statues and stare at it. It's Halloween night, and it only happens once a year. It's only once a year that we get to have the genuine fun of visiting a house that is considered haunted. Do you see anyone around us? Exactly, no. Means we are the only ones about to have a great adventure. You don't want to miss it standing behind in fear, right? I'm pretty sure not. So move right here, and join me inside."
