A girl laid beside you on the futon your mother prepared, eyes shining like gold coins while you chatted about stupid things until you were about to pass out. Your middle school uniform hung pristinely on your door and the lavender scent of fresh sheets put a smile on your face.
"(Name)-san ~" she turned to you with a matching expression, except now it was a little more sinister. Her teeth glinted in the darkness, and for a second she was unrecognizable.
"..(Name)-san..? (Name)-san we've arrived."Midoriya's shrill voice woke you from your sleep. The bright lights of the bullet train made you squint as your eyes adjusted. Turning towards his voice, your sleepy gaze met a set of deep green.
You realized you'd been leaning on him, probably for most of the ride, judging by the color of his face. "Oh sorry. Did it bother you? You could've woken me up, you know." Your laugh came out breathy, voice still raspy from your nap.
Izuku was a kind boy. Almost too kind at times, much like Uraraka. You knew he wouldn't have woken you up even if both of his legs were painfully asleep for the entire train ride.
Exiting the station, you roamed the Yamanashi Prefecture alongside your green-headed friend. Both of you were on the lookout for a specific apartment, home of your soon-to-be mentor.
"Ah! ...Is that it?" Midoriya pointed to a run-down building across the street, focus flickering to the complex and down to the map he held in his hands. Dark lines were etched across the surface, like tan lines, but more jagged and rough. You could help but stare at his scars, thinking about how they reminded you of someone else's.
"Are you sure this is the place? It seems...a little out of character." You passed a nervous look to the boy beside you. There was no way a pro hero lived here right? Especially not one specifically picked out by All Might himself.
The windows were shattered and pieces of the building were chipping off. To make things worse, a 'Welcome' sign was hanging off the entrance by its hinges. It practically smelled sketchy.
Midoriya let out a shaky chuckle as he shared hopeful words and continued toward the door. You reached out and knocked, half-worried you'd get a splinter from the peeling wood. This was the exact address given by All Might.
The door creaked open on its own, cutting your trivial thoughts short. You peered into the apartment, peeking over his shoulder as he stood slightly in front of you.
Inside, there was a green couch with a small coffee table in front of it, and on the back wall, a bookshelf with a desk and stool nearby. You also noticed a corkboard with a lot of suspicious-looking papers stuck to it and a small chandelier on the ceiling.
