The crowd yelled in excitement as you entered the field. You and Shouto stared each other down, walking from different ends of the dome.
"START!"
You took deep breaths, trying to calm your heart — which you knew was beating far too fast to be healthy. A plan sprouted in your mind to use your quirk right off the bat to push Shouto out of bounds, knowing you would lose miserably in hand-to-hand combat. The only issue was the fatigue still hanging around from the last two events. You weren't sure how much you had left in you.
Your body was frigid in fright, unable to focus on activating your quirk because your mind was racing with everything but. You looked back at Shouto, thankful for the time he had given you to make the first move. Was he underestimating you? Or did he also have a strategy in mind?
It clicked in your head. He was probably trying to tire you out, make you use your quirk first, and knock you off when you're most vulnerable. It was a smart plan. But for some reason, it pissed you off knowing he was expecting this to be an easy match.
You closed your eyes as you visualized the fabric of time. Reaching out to the palpable object, you opened your eyes. It worked.
Around you, the crowd's cheers turned to nothingness, muffled and sluggish, as you focused on the boy in front of you.
Running towards him, you had a flashback to one of your fights with Bakugou, remembering when you knocked him off his feet. You would have to keep in mind the momentum that your quirk amplified. If you hit him too hard, he would fall, and it would slow you down.
There were only two choices. Hit him hard enough to stun him, and drag him as close to the boundary as possible, or, blast his ass out of bounds.
You decided on the latter, as the voice in your head proved there was only enough time for one move. As you reached about a meter away from Shouto, you leaped into the air, angling your body sideways. It felt like time slowed even for you, as your legs slowly reached his chest area.
With all your might, you pounded your heels into him, acting as if he was a platform you were jumping off. At that same instant, time returned to normal and you landed on your feet, watching as the boy flew backward.
Much to your dismay, Shouto was able to create an ice wall just before he was throw out of bounds, knocking himself against it.
'Ouch. Well, I hope it hurt. That way, I might still have a chance...' You thought to yourself.
"Woohoo! Did you see that!? Todoroki was nearly knocked out of bounds by (Lastname)'s super-speed attack!" Present Mic screamed excitedly to the audience.
