What Gran Torino actually meant was he was going to train you guys until your muscles liquified, and then go on patrol.
Your body ached as you woke up from your nap. Checking the time, you see that 4 hours had passed since you left the apartment. After breakfast, Gran Torino had you and Izuku do drills and mock battles against him, and each other for hours. Before giving you a final hour to shower and change into your costumes.
You glanced at the boy sitting across from you, who was once again muttering to himself. A smile came to your face at the new fondness you had for him.
"(Name)-chan, have you been able to contact Iida-kun?" Izuku turned to you with a concerned expression while you looked out the window. You shifted your focus from the buildings and trees rushing by, noticing how he changed honorifics. You were currently on the train on your way to Tokyo for your patrolling duty.
"No, I'll try texting him right now. Is everything okay?" You replied, taking your phone out of your pocket. To your amusement, it was then his turn to look outside the window dramatically.
Last night after your rigorous practicing, you and Izuku talked for a long time, which is partially why you had both slept so little. He filled you in on Iida's situation, and you felt pity for your strict friend.
He always looked up to his older brother with such admiration. For him to go from pro hero to helpless and crippled was devastating, and it pained even you to think about it.
Nonetheless, you had known Iida for a while now and trusted his rationality. Out of the four of you, the one most likely to make a reckless decision would be you, possibly Izuku, although they were usually part of a strategy he had come up with. But Iida and Uraraka were much more levelheaded than you two.
However, when you and Izuku left for Yamanashi Prefecture, you remembered seeing an odd expression from the class president. It was scornful. One that disturbed you, and went unnoticed by Izuku and Uraraka as you bid your farewells.
"I'm just worried about him. The train is passing by Hosu city soon." He sighed, like he knew his thoughts were unnecessary, but couldn't help it. It didn't surprise you at this point, having spent the last 36 hours with him.
You let out a sigh of your own, suppressing your memory from the other day. "I trust Iida-kun. I highly doubt he would try anything stupid." You paused. "At least not by himself.."
You cracked a smile as Izuku's concerned face returned. "Why don't we make a quick visit if we have time later?" You offered, trying to relax his worries.
Even if your quirk hadn't benefited from this internship, you were happy to have built a stronger bond with your friend. But it undoubtedly did. You could sense it in your veins and how quickly you were able to activate your time control.
