Piper was terrified. Alex sounded dreadful and scared. Piper rushed out her door and sped as fast as she could to Rachel's. She ran up the stairs to Rachel's place and opened the already unlocked door.

"Alex?! Alex!" Piper shouted in the unfamiliar house.

Piper heard sobs and gags coming from the bathroom.

The frantic blonde barged through the bathroom door only to find Alex's limb body laying on the floor, in a puddle of her own vomit and tears.

Piper sat on the floor and put Alex's head on her leg. Piper just stared at Alex and felt a mix of things. The brunette was lethargic. Alex began to make a choking sound then stopped. Piper got very worried and started asking Alex questions, only to get no response. The blonde frantically checked for Alex's pulse. She stopped breathing.

"Alex?! Alex!" Piper shook the drug filled woman.

Piper started bawling. She didn't know what to do, but she had to act fast. She quickly grabbed her phone and called the police.

"Hello, NYPD what is your emergency?" A lady answered.

"I think my girlfriend is over dosing, I don't know what to do." Piper talked super fast.

"Help is on the way. While you wait, you need to perform CPR, do you know how?" The lady stayed calm.

"Y-yes." Piper hung up and started giving Alex CPR.

She was pushing firm on Alex's chest and then giving mouth to mouth. She did this repeatedly, but it didn't seem to work. Piper felt like she was doing this for hours, although it was probably only a minute. The ambulance finally showed up and two paramedics came rushing in. They pushed Piper out of the way and began to work on Alex.

Piper was hysterical. She was uncontrollably crying. The love of her life could be gone forever. The blonde sat there watching Alex overdose and there was nothing she could do.

"We have a pulse!" One of the paramedics screamed.

A wave of relief hit Piper like a ton of bricks. As soon as that was yelled, Alex vomited a foam like substance. The medical professionals rolled Alex on her side so she wouldn't choke. They put her on a stretcher and carried her out into the back of the ambulance. Piper hopped in the back with her and held her hand.

"It's going to be okay Alex." Piper whispered.

They arrived at the hospital. The paramedics rushed Alex out of the ambulance and wheeled her in through the emergency enterance. Piper followed along right behind them, not wanting to leave Alex's side.

Piper sat beside Alex's bed holding her hand. The brunette was weak, pale, and high as a kite. Piper had never seen anything so terrifying in her life. She was scared. Scared for Alex, scared for herself. She had no idea what to do or how to approach the situation when Alex awakens.

A few hours passed by. Piper had shed some tears, but remained in the same spot without moving.

Alex had began to stir. Her eyes fluttered and she took a deep breathe. The first thing she saw was Piper.

"Piper..." Alex raspily said with her dry mouth.

"Oh my God Alex, it felt like you were never going to wake up." A tear fell from the corner of the blondes eye as she squeazed Alex's hand tighter.

"I'm so sorry Piper." Alex felt terrible.

"Shh. Don't think about anything right now. Just know I'm here with you, you're not alone." Piper conforted her.

They sat in silence for a few minutes before a nurse came in.

"Alex, good to see you're away and talking. I'm just going to check your vitals and make sure everything is running smoothly." While the nurse is checking Alex she looks at Piper and quietly says "She's still very high, she might say strange things or act funny, so far she seems to look good but were going to have to keep her for a couple days."

"I'm not staying here." Alex says bluntly.

"Miss Vause, I'll have your doctor come in to talk to you shortly." The nurse left the room.

Minutes later the doctor arrived.

"Hello Alex...and you are?" The doctor asks looking at Piper.

"Piper. Piper Chapman. I'm Alex's girl-...uh Alex's friend." Piper stood up.

"Well considering she has no family here and she has you as her emergency contact, can I speak to you for a minute?" The doctor stepped out the room and Piper followed.

"What's going on? What's this about?" Piper was worried.

"Piper, Alex is going to need a lot more than rest. I want to have a close eye kept on her. There are lots of protocols that come along with patients of drug abuse. She's going to need a pysch evaluation, rehab, and weekly counselling sessions." The doctor explained.

"No. Alex will never go through with that! She doesn't beileve in all that stuff. I can handle it, I can take care of her. Please." The scared blonde pleaded.

"I'm sorry but those are her only options. She either goes through with that treatment or she's going to do time. Either in the pysch ward, or prison. She needs help. More help than you can provide for her." The doctor walked away.
