Kakra poured every ounce of energy into her hands, focusing on healing Gabrielle's wounds. But she was having more trouble than she'd anticipated. "Damn it..." she sighed, a feeling of hopelessness coming over her. "I don't think I can heal these wounds. The demonic energy surrounding them is way too strong," she sighed.
Jacques shook his head in disbelief. There had to be something that could be done. "You can't just give up! Look at her, she's suffering."
Searching Jacques' frantic eyes, Kakra did just that, taking in the sight of Gabrielle's limp body. The way the wretched gashes now seemed to consume her flesh, the now shallow rhythm of her breathing... it was clear that she was in pain. It was clear that the situation had now turned dire. She had to do something, anything! But what?! Shaking her head, Kakra lay her hands over Gabrielle once more, and focused, this time harder. She was determined to help her in any way she possibly could while Vincent fought the battle to protect her.
Vincent was relentless against his adversary, and it was clear Gideon didn't stand a chance. Yes, the demon had chosen the wrong target to exact revenge on, for now he was receiving the beating of a lifetime. He'd just crashed into yet another table while Vincent pursued him, fists blazing. Gideon held his hands up in defeat, shielding himself from yet another blow.
"Dragonoff, please!" he cried out, voice quivering.
"Then come out and face me!" Vincent growled, his fanged snarl ferocious. "Did you really think you would get off easily after threatening and harming my woman? I should just kill you right now where you lie!"
"I yield! Dredger's body cannot take much more. At this rate you'll kill him, too."
Vincent growled and yanked Gideon's collar. "Then come out and fight me fairly." He was more than fed up with the demon's cowardice.
Gideon shook his head. "I can't..."
His brows furrowed now in confusion. "What the fuck are you on about?" he demanded. "What do you mean 'you can't'?!"
"Something is keeping me in here... some... some force."
Vincent observed the man, considering his options. Was he being truthful? Should he hear him out? Just as he was about to release him and inquire further, Gideon swung his hand upward, baring his dagger. Vincent yelled out as the weapon struck his face, forcing him to stumble backward.
Gideon bellowed a laugh at the vampire as he covered his wound. "For someone who was known to be so ruthless, it's a wonder you've grown to be so soft! Either that, or you're just stupid." He lunged again at Vincent, this time aiming for his chest. It was time to end this game... It was time to end the vampire! Just one stab into his black, useless heart and he would finally be the victor!
What he did not consider, however, was Dragonoff's speed. The man moved at light speed compared to what he could do in this decaying human body. His knife had cut through nothing but empty air, and Vincent was standing opposite to where he'd swung. He growled in frustration, attacking again. Once more, no success. Another swing, another miss... Now Dragonoff stood before him, eyes burning with rage. The slice on his cheek had now turned black, and it would please Gideon to know that even with his supernatural healing, the vampire could not recover from his attacks as quickly as usual. But that information was of no use if he could not even land another hit...
He had to have some kind of weakness... Gideon observed his opponent, scoping out various parts of his body. His eyes, his head? No... The heart again? He sighed. It was all pointless if he could not even reach him. It would be suicide if he attempted another head on attack.
But the heart would be the safest bet... Gideon blinked as a thought dawned on him.
His heart is his weakness.
