"Bonsoir, Jacques, how are things? How are you all doing?"

"Hello, Celeste. Things are lovely over here. It's wonderful to hear from you again."

"It's always lovely to hear from you Jacques. Did Linda and little Christopher make it safely over?"

Jacques smiled as he thought about when he was reunited with his family after nearly a year. "Yes, they're settling in well. Soon we will be searching for our own home and the penthouse will be left to Vincent and Gabrielle."

"Ahh! Lovely," Celeste replied, and Jacques could hear the smile in her voice. He could imagine the way her blue eyes danced with content when she'd received good news. "It seems my hard-headed son has rectified his mistakes?"

Jacques chuckled at that. "Yes, he certainly has. Vincentius has come a long way, Aunt. You would be proud."

Celeste released a longing sigh. "How I wish I could catch up with him. It's been far too long since I've seen my own son. If him and his father weren't so alike... so stubborn!"

Jacques frowned. It must have been difficult for his aunt to have not seen her son in over a century. He, himself, was suffering for only a few months not seeing his family. "Maybe I can convince him to visit?"

"Pardon?"

"Maybe I could convince him. And it would be a great opportunity for you all to meet Gabrielle."

"I would love that.... Jacques, do you really think you'd be able to convince Veci to come? You know how he is, self-assured and unshakable."

Jacques heaved a deep sigh. "I don't know, Celeste. I could try. Maybe Gabrielle would be a good help. He listens to her more than he does me," he explained with a laugh. "She really does appeal to his stubbornness."

"You could try that and see. Let me know how it goes, and I'll work on Dracul over here."

"Bonne chance. I think we'll both need all the luck we could get. Look, I'll talk to you another time. Linda and I are about to look for a place to live. I'll text you with any progress."

"All right, Jacques. We'll catch up. Be safe, and send my wishes and love."

"Goodbye, Celeste."
