"Mom, it's my birthday, I'm not going to go to school!" I grown grabbing my converse out of my closet. After I put them on I grab my black sleeveless vest to go over my dark blue sweatshirt and black skinny jeans. And no I'm not goth.

"Ryan, your going! I don't care if it's your sixteenth birthday or not!" My wonderful mother yells back, I glare at her and go into my bathroom. Fixing my dark brown hair into loose curls that fall over my shoulders, I pull on my dark blue beanie. Dark blue is my favorite color because it matches my eyes.

"No! I'm going to the skate park!" I shout as she peers in the mirror behind me. After putting a small amount of mascara on, I turn to glare at her. She glares back, still looking young as ever.

My parents were one of those high school romance couples, so a few days after graduating they moved in with each other. Apparently, I, was an accident. I guess my dad was too drunk to cover his junk one night after a graduation party, and therefor I was born eight months later. A little early, but I was fine.

They had also hoped for a boy but to they're dismay, I was a girl. That's why my name is Ryan. Yes, it's a unisex name but I still think of it as a boy name. To be perfectly honest, the name fits because I dress more like a guy than the girl I am.

"Please Ryan! Don't Argue! At least not today! Your dad is already stressed enough about you turning sixteen!" She yells back. I scowl.

"Why because I meet my mate soon?!?" I ask angrily. Oh ya, by the way, I'm a werewolf. Small detail of my life though. Well actually my wolf, Mia, would disagree. She has been awaiting this day for years, I have been dreading it. I don't wan't a mate. All he'll do is touch me, and I HATE it when people touch me without my permision, especially guys.

My mom looks at me with yet another glare. "Yes, please just go to school today, I don't wan't your father to have a panic attack, again" she says, much, much, more calmly this time.

"Fine, but tomorrow, I go to the skate park." She nods and leaves my room with a relieved look on her face. I don't care about this mate thing, I'll just ignore all the guys for the rest of my life.

I grab my skateboard and head downstairs. Grabbing an apple I pull my school bag over my shoulder but stop before I run out the door. Turning on my heels, I walk over to the kitchen table and put a peck on my fathers cheek.

"Love you dad, and, I'll be fine." He looks up from his paper and gives me a small smile. I never see those anymore. My father, Mother, and I are warriors of our pack, the Golden Burst pack. There is only one other pack in town, the Dark Rise pack, we are both on good terms currently. Somehow, I'm not even sure if it's possible but they want to combine both packs but still have both male Alphas. I have never heard of it but hey, I guess you can.

"Please be careful Ryan." He says with a sad look. I look at the time on my phone, 7:15, school lets the doors open at 7:30. I like to get there early though. The first bell rings at 8:05 so, I'm good on time but should head out now.

"Trust me, if any boy comes near me, except for Jake, I'll just use my warrior training techniques." He smiles at this. Giving me a small shove.

"Get to school before I whip out my own warrior techniques on you for being late." With that I'm out the door and on my skateboard headed to school. Jake is my best friend. Not very many girls like me so my best friend is a guy, actually I have two but she's a handful. My dad likes him because he's in our pack. Actually he's the soon to be Alpha so he's got a busy future ahead of him. But he'll be powerful so my father doesn't object to our friendship.

I eat my apple on the way and through it in the trash bin at a house. They won't mind, I'm not littering after all.

The time on my phone shows 7:24. I go a little faster. Me and Jake race each other to school because we're both too competitive. I have always won so I don't wan't to lose my winning streak. Turning into the parking lot I look around for his shiny dark blue Ford F-150. I'm in luck, it's no where in sight. My winning streak lives on another day.
