Scene 13
_____________4:25pm, The Nakamoto Mansion
_______________________________________Five months. Five whole months, the ring sat in its velvet box hidden under the two's shared bed. Five months of trying to plan the perfect proposal, with no luck. Sicheng had started school during those months and had straight A's in all his classes. One of the guest rooms in the new house had turned into a dance studio, and Sicheng had literally sobbed at Yuta's feet when the man opened the door. Rin was doing just as well in his kindergarten classes. He was a bright and friendly kid and already had a little crush in his art class.
And Yuta? Well, Yuta was stressed and mad at himself. His first proposal was nowhere near as stressful as the one now, and Yuta blamed it all on the person he was asking. If you care more about a person, you try more, simple as that.
He turned the box over in his hands, feeling the blue fabric dance across his fingers.
"What am I going to do?" He groaned out as he flopped onto the black sheets. Per Sichengs request, their room had been done in a more modern style, with large windows, black sheets, curtains, and a large walk-in closet. The bathroom was sleek and contemporary, having all the same features of the old bathroom, minus one thing. Yuta had moved his box of condoms to his bedside drawer, finally having a use for them.
"Yuta?" Sicheng knocked on the door frame tentatively. Yuta bolted upright, shoving the ring box down his pants. He couldn't think of anything else, okay?
"Yes?" He shakily asked, hoping the bulge in his jeans didn't look too suggestive.
"Rin's home." Sicheng glanced down at the man's jeans, his head filling with not so innocent thoughts. Yuta nodded and stood from the bed awkwardly. Sicheng had been wondering why he had locked himself in their bedroom the minute they came home, but now it made sense. Sicheng couldn't help the slight jealousy he felt when he wondered what Yuta thought of to get a boner.
"Better be me," he whispered to himself as he walked back down the picture lined hallway, Yuta following behind. Sicheng had wanted to make the house feel more like a home, so he went to the store and printed out hundreds of photos of the three, including the ones Sicheng took of Yuta in the kitchen. They gave the house something personal that Sicheng adored. He never had family photos on the wall as a child. The only thing he even remembered being framed was his birth certificate, with the ugly scribbles over his parent's names. His first family photo was with Kun, and he was hoping to mask those memories with better ones.
"Rin!" Sicheng yelled into the seemingly empty living room. He raised a suspicious eyebrow when he didn't get a response. A quiet child was a troublemaking child, but a quiet Rin was a destructive Rin.
"I swear to God if he got in the cheese balls again," Yuta mumbled behind him, causing Sicheng to chuckle at the memory.
"Mommy! Daddy! Come look!" Rin's little head peeked from behind the wall dividing the living room and kitchen. He was obviously hiding his hands and the two males could only hope their floor wasn't stained orange again. They were pleasantly surprised when they turned the corner and were only met with two sloppy flower crowns. Yuta didn't care that the flowers were actually weeds or that they were coated in dirt, he put the crown on willingly, much to the delight of his proud child.
"Okay, that's wrong, mister," Sicheng said as he fiddled with the crown on Yuta's head, tilting it and brushing his hair back. Sicheng paused his movements to look Yuta in the eyes, keeping his fingers intertwined with his soft locks. He leaned forward and placed a chaste kiss on his lips before resuming his fiddling.
"Sichengie, here!" Rin nudged Sicheng, handing him a beautiful rose, the thorns all picked off. Sicheng giggled softly and pushed the flower behind his ear, his face the same color as the flower.
"Thanks, love. I'mma go practice for the expedition, make something good," Sicheng said to Yuta, already making his way to the studio. Yuta nodded mindlessly, getting caught up in his thoughts once again. His brain felt like it had a giant file folder labeled 'Perfect Engagement' or maybe that was just the CEO in him. But before he did anything, he had to confront Rin about it. If the boy wasn't comfortable, Yuta wouldn't force the marriage on him.
"Hey, Rin?" The boy stopped his flower crown making.
"Yes, Daddy?"
"How would you feel if I asked Sichengie to marry me?"
Rin smiled at his anxious father. "That'd be great! I really love Sichengie and he really loves you. You can be his dinosaur."
Finally, Yuta got the perfect proposal idea. He hugged his son and bolted out the front door, taking his Bugatti to the nearest tattoo shop.
"I need a dinosaur and I've got five hours," Yuta spoke breathlessly, slapping a few hundreds on the grimy counter. The tattoo artist smiled and led Yuta to the chair where he stayed for the next four hours.
"Sicheng? Rin?" He called as he walked through the front door, his shirt covering his hidden surprise.
"Kitchen!" Sicheng yelled back.
Yuta walked to the kitchen, glancing around curiously.
"Rin's asleep, in case you were wondering," Sicheng sipped some of the liquid from the mug in his hands, glaring at Yuta. Yuta noticed his look and sighed.
"What's wrong, babe?"
"You left for hours, with a boner, might I add, and then you come back home, without a boner and without telling us where you went," Sicheng said as he walked around the kitchen, dumping his drink and putting his cup in the dishwasher. He walked down the hallway to their bedroom, Yuta following behind like a lost puppy.
"Sicheng," he whined, "Don't do this." The boy didn't reply, instead changing his t-shirt into one of Yuta's comfy sweaters. Yuta grabbed onto the sweater and pulled him onto the bed. Sicheng didn't react whatsoever, just let his body fall next to Yuta, who had begun to kiss at his neck for attention.
"Stop," Sicheng muttered, pushing Yuta away, his hand accidentally landing right on the new tattoo. Yuta winced at the contact, which didn't go unnoticed by Sicheng. He lifted the man's shirt, ignoring his protests.
"Yuta, what is this?" Sicheng asked as he gently traced the outline of the Trex. The Trex itself was extremely cute, but Sicheng was more focused on the words underneath it, written in his native language.
'嫁给我'
"That's not how this was supposed to go but okay." Yuta shrugged and reached under the bed, pulling out a blue box.
"Yuta, what, wait." Tears filled Sichengs eyes.
"Dong Sicheng, 嫁给我?" Yuta opened the box, revealing a beautiful black diamond ring. Yuta's Chinese was broken and shaky, but Sicheng understood perfectly.
"Of course I'll marry you, dumbass." Sicheng cursed through his tears. Yuta chuckled softly, wiping them away as they fell. The man gently grabbed his shaking hands, placing the ring on his finger. The contrast of Sicheng's skin and the diamond was absolutely stunning, and the boy could only stare in awe at the jewelry on his finger.
"You said Rin is asleep, right?" Yuta asked as he kissed down Sicheng's exposed skin. The boy hummed in response, the sound vibrating through Yuta's needy lips.
"Good," was the only thing he said before ravishing Sicheng. Each touch, each kiss, filled with such a deep passion for the boy beneath him. The two made the same type of love they made in the kitchen all those months ago, but this time with and as something different. Yuta got to make love to his fiance and future husband.
