Once I got to the living room, I clung onto a pillow for dear life. I was rocking back and forth, my hands shaking. I was having an anxiety attack! I heard two sets of footsteps run up from the basement. It was Jinxx and Sammi. They sat on either side of me and Jinxx pulled me into a hug.

“Nina! Are you alright?” he asked worriedly.

“N-No. I-I can’t do this.” I shook.

“You’ll be ok, I promise! It’s just one song, and it’ll be over with before you know it.” Sammi assured.

“I-I don’t know. Maybe Paige was right. I was gonna back down, AGAIN.” I shuddered.

“Nina Clark, STOP selling yourself short! I’ve heard and seen what you could do. You have the voice of an angel, you can play five fucking instruments, and you can write your own songs! You have something special! You CAN and WILL do this! It’s time to put a stop to staying in the shadows! Isn’t it time you shared your talent with the world? You really need to break out of your shell.” Jinxx preached. I smiled like an idiot.

“Nina, please. You can do this. I haven’t heard you sing or anything, but please go up there and give it all you’ve got.” Sammi begged.

“I’ll do it.” I announced after a few moments.

“There you go!” Jinxx patted me on the back.

The three of us made our way back down to the basement. Mia mouthed, asking if i was ok. I nodded. Paige was halfway through “Skyscraper” by Demi Lovato. It was SO obvious that she was using an auto tune mic, and her hands were hardly touching the keyboard. I don’t think anyone else but Mia, Maddie and I knew, but we’re keeping our mouths shut until we find the perfect time to bust her. After she was finished, everyone except Mia and I clapped. She did a curtsy and blew kisses to CC, who was on his feet clapping. Oh brother…

“Pretty good, Paige, if I do say so myself!” Andy exclaimed.

“Nina, you’re up!” Ella called from where she was filming. Oh God…FILMING!

“Don’t get stage fright.” Paige winked while stuffing the mic into her purse.

“Don’t get caught.” I smirked, pushing past her.

I gulped as I slowly walked to the stage. I hope I DIDN’T get stage fright. I grabbed Jake’s guitar and tuned it. I turned the mic on stage on and tested it. Moments later, I started strumming the guitar. After a few deep breaths, I closed my eyes and began to sing.

“Hey, good girl

With your head in the clouds

I bet you I can tell you

What you’re thinkin' about

You'll see a good boy

Gonna give you the world

But he’s gonna leave you cryin'

With your heart in the dirt

His lips are droppin’ honey

But he’ll sting you like a bee

So lock up all your lovin’

Go and throw away the key

Hey good girl

Get out while you can

I know you think you got a good man

Whyyyy, why you gotta be so bliiiind?

Won’t you open up your eeeyes?

It’s just a matter of time 'till you find
