Nico POV

I was leaning on the balcony of my room in my father's palace. I was watching the souls being tortured in the Fields of Punishment, thinking in deep concentration.

What if sending them to high school wasn't a good choice? What if Nyx did attack Camp Half-Blood.

I immediately heard the scrape of a sword behind me. I pulled out my Stygian Iron Sword. My blade met the enemy's just in time. We jumped off the balcony, and landed on a platform.

"Who are you?" I demanded. I couldn't warn Hades in time. I needed to find out who this person was, and if I went, he or she would have time to escape. Could it be Selene? No, it couldn't be. This stranger's aura gives off a different vibe.

The figure then did a 360 flip onto a higher platform. If I didn't know any better, I would've assumed the stranger was some Sith for Star Wars. He or she chucked his blade at me. I dodged. I then leaped up at him or her. In an instant, the strangers snapped his or her fingers and disappeared from view. Looks like the stranger was careless. He or she left the blade he or she chucked behind.

I went to my father's throne. "Fa-"

"No need, son. I know what has happened."

"Wait, WHAT?"

He snapped his fingers, and the blade appeared in his fingers. He examined it. "This blade is made of rusted Celestial Bronze, painted white. I guess the stranger didn't want you to find out."

"Why didn't you help?" I asked.

"A god cannot interfere with a mortal's doing, unless the mortal challenges him or her."

"Wait... that person was a mortal?"

"Apparently, yes."

"But, he snapped his fingers and disappeared. No mortal can do that. That's a power of a god!"

Hades cursed in Ancient Greek. "Son, there is a special case. You know the process in which a mortal gets immortalized right?"

"Yes."

"Sometimes, the process fails, and their life string turns silver instead of gold. This means that they have most powers of a god but are still vulnerable to death." We were both silent for a long time.

"So that means..." I wondered aloud.

"Yes."

"The stranger needed his or her godly parent to immortalize-"

"I am afraid so."

"What shall we say to the others?"

"We will break the news tomorrow."
