Chapter 9
After so long a time of sitting around the house, Sam was ready to be done being sad about his breakup.
Sure, it still hurt, and he'd probably never truly get over Kat or the loss of her and everything that they'd had together.
However, being in his room by himself definitely wasn't helping him at all. The hurt would still be there, whether or not he decided to stay isolated or actually be with his friends for a change.
So, what better way to do that than throw a party?
"Excuse me, you want to throw a party, Sam?" Corey asked, as soon as he brought it up over breakfast the next day.
"Yeah, why not? It'll be fun. We haven't been to a party in forever."
"Well, yeah, but that's only because you've been so down lately."
"Yeah, but I'm trying to get over that. 's why I want to have a party, you know?"
"I don't know Sam, you sure you're ready for that?"
"Why wouldn't I be? I mean, it's been over a month, Corey, shouldn't I be moving on or something?"
"Don't you think you're moving on a little too fast? You know, it's okay to just sit and process shit. You don't have to jump right back out there."
"Uh, I know, but I've been processing it, and it's been driving me crazy. If I have to spend one more night "thinking" about shit I'm going to, well I don't know, but it won't be good." (A/N I was going to say something but I decided against it because suicide is never a joke)
"All right, man, I'm just saying, a party is kind of a big deal. We could do something else fun."
"Something else like?"
"Take a trip. Come on, we haven't been on a real trip since last summer."
"Seriously? A trip?"
"Yeah, come on. We could do a whole bunch of vlogs and find some cool abandoned places or whatever. It'd be fun."
"I don't know, man."
"Come on, you're ready to throw a giant party in our house but you're not ready to take a trip for a couple of days?"
"Well, yeah, but a party's different, you just have to invite people over and provide the booze. A trip's something else, it takes so much planning. Besides that, where would we go?"
"Well, I can think of at least five states that are within a day's drive from here. Matter of fact, why don't we go to like Colorado or something?"
"Isn't it really cold there this time of year?"
"Yeah, but that's part of the fun. Come on, we wouldn't have to do abandoned places. We could find like a ski lodge in Boulder and it'd be just as fun. Plus, Boulder's a college town, I'm pretty sure we could have fun off the mountain too."
"But you hate the cold, Corey."
"That's why I will be inside the nice warm ski lodge and you will be outside in the cold."
"Who's going to be outside in the cold?" Aaron asked sleepily as he came into the kitchen.
"Hey, good morning brother, I was just talking to Sam about taking a trip over the weekend to Boulder, you in?"
"Hmm, I have a lot of editing to get done, so I might have to pass, but sounds like fun."
"Aww come on, are you going to make it just me and Corey?" Sam asked.
