Amnesia

Chapter 20

A/N: Okay, so would like to say that I am still not gonna apologize for the cliches all of you are about to endure. But I will say in my defence that I needed drama and so I created some. Um, not sure what angle I'm trying to take with this drama per se, but I'm feeling that the next couple chapters will be about Colby coming more into his sexuality and Sam and Colby telling their parents about them. So yeah. 

Also, before any of you saying anything, we all know that we tell our friends shit before we tell our parents. Or at least I do. 

This chapter is just supposed to be light filler, so you can skip if you want.

P.S. Ignore the weird POV break, I had no idea how to transition that lol.

Anyhow, really onto the story now.

Chapter 20

Sam was really hoping he didn't have to retract that statement, as he sat on the couch beside Colby. Their thighs pressed close together- the closest approximation he could get to holding Colby's hand without actually holding Colby's hand.

Because, their roommates didn't know, but all of them were looking at him and Colby with expectant faces at whatever "news" they had.

Except for Corey, he was smirking at the two of them with a devil-may-care grin.

Sam cleared his throat, "I know you're all probably wondering why we called another meeting"

Heads nodded all around.

"Well, um, Colby and I have some news for you" Sam paused to let his words sink in and steeled himself for what he was about to say next.

"You're pregnant!" Jake interrupted.

"What? No! Why would you-nevermind. Look that's not it at all"

"Then what's going on?" Aaron asked (yes, for once Aaron was out of his room)

Sam looked at Colby who sighed and said.

"Sam's not pregnant, but there has been a major change in both of our lives," then hurried to add "but for the better" at the way everyone's faces started to crease with concern.

"I think what Colby is trying to say is, we've both changed each other's lives for the better. And we kind of came to a realization-"

"Are you sure you're not pregnant? Because this definitely sounds like a pregnancy announcement"

Colby sighed again, drawing a hand across his face, "For the last time Jake, Sam is not pregnant. He does not have the parts that would make that work"

Jake shrugged, "I mean, weirder things have happened"

The others, sensing a serious moment, were trying to contain their laughter, so Sam tried to gain control of the situation while he still had it.

"Look, I'm not pregnant, don't be stupid Jake. Like I was trying to say, Colby and I have come to some realizations about each other and so-"

"Did you say yes?" Devyn interrupted, "Because I mean, if you're not pregnant, then this must be a marriage announcement."

"What? No! I mean, not that there's anything wrong with getting married-"

"Sam and I are dating," Colby said, talking over Sam and sending him an apologetic look, but honestly, sometimes it was just easier to spit it out. Maybe everyone would stop assuming wild things in that case.
