Paige's POV
My head still hurt, but I was ok. Only a broken ankle, and a serious headache. Today was my first day back at dance, and the nurse insisted I take it easy. But that's like telling me to try not to breathe. I can't take it easy when I dance. I go full out. And if the teachers see me marking the choreography, I might be put out of the running for the scholarships. But if I miss another day, I'd be completely disqualified. So that isn't an option. I'll just have to suck it up and dance through the pain.

Brooke's POV
We helped Paige to the studio, even though she really didn't want us to.
"Enough!" She yelled. Paige shrugged our hands away and limped the rest of the way there.
"Jeez," Chloe muttered.
The dance studio seemed to be buzzing with eccentric energy. I asked a girl named Alissa. She was pretty nice.
"Hey, Alissa! What's going on?" I questioned.
She looked at me with a huge smile and a laugh.
"DUH! Your dance battle. Miss Hannah just said a dance battle would be harmless, even FUN! So she raised the steaks... The winner gets a FULL scholarship to the Joffrey Ballet Academy summer program!!!"
