7: Underneath the Same Skies

"Tangi, come." I called Daniel as I held his hand.

He was sitting on a monobloc inside the tent, patiently waiting for me to finish my shoot.

"Done ka na Love?" He asked softly, making me sit on his lap.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him. "No pa but, I just want you to see the view."

He chuckled and placed a kiss on my forhead before he put my head on his shoulder.

"Dito muna tayo my Love, okay lang?" He asked me and I nodded.

Mas lalo ko naman siyang niyakap nang maramdaman ko ang mga kamay niya sa bewang ko.

"I really missed you, my Tangi." Pagba-baby talk niya.

"Aww, I missed you too Tangi. Superrr!" I kissed his cheek and I heard him chuckle again.

Ilang minuto rin kaming nasa ganoong posisyon bago ako yayain ni DJ na lumabas na sa tent.

The sun was setting. Almost.

Kaagad ko siyang hinila papunta doon sa malaking window na inuupuan ko.

"Dahan-dahan lang Mahal." He said habang inaalalayan akong umupo.

"Wow." I said in awe as I stared at the sunset.

"Hindi nakakasawa panoorin noh, Bali?" He asked but I did not take my eyes away from the sunset.

I was waiting for something.

"Oh my gosh!" I exclaimed and faced DJ.
"Did you see it Love? 'Yung green light?" I asked him, excitement all over me.

He kissed my cheek and said, "Too bad, I was only staring at you."

And that made me blush. Idagdag mo pa ang red orange na glow ng sunset. Ayan, nagmukhang tomatoes tuloy ang pisngi ni Kathryn.

"HAHAHAHA!!! Kilig ka Tangi?" He teased me kaya inirapan ko siya.

"Irap irap pa pero deep insi--- ARAY!"

"I hate you." I told him matapos ko siyang pingutin sa tenga.

"Joke lang naman kasi. Ito oh, brutal ka ah. Aalis na nga ako bukas eh." He said and it made the both of us quiet.

After a few moments or so, I asked no one in particular, "Kailan kaya darating 'yung araw na sa lahat ng sunrise and sunsets na papanoorin ko ay nasa tabi lang kita?"

"Jo ko, isdatchu?" He joked and it made me snort.

But then again, we became quiet.

"Well, at least Bal, we're under the same skies." He suddenly said, putting my head on his shoulder again.

"Yeah pero, iba pa rin 'yung kasama mo talaga 'yung tao eh, Bal." I answered, eyes now fixed on the starry early night sky.

He then held my chin and made me face him. "Love, I may not always be physically beside you, but palagi mong tatandaan na ito," He took my right hand and placed it just above his beating heart, "Ay parating sa'yo at kasama mo."

"My love for you will always remain. Tandaan mo 'yan ha?"

I looked into his eyes and knew that he was, indeed, telling the truth. That no matter where we go, no matter where we are, be it in two different worlds or even just a few hundred miles away from each other, our love will always remain.

We may not always be beside each other everytime the sun sets but, at least, our hearts are beating the same rhythm underneath the same skies.
