Mrs. Porter's POV
"Happy birthday, love." The first words I heard on my doom day. I'm thirty. God, I can't be thirty. Please let me go just five years back. I growled in my pillow with so much frustration.
"Oh, come on, Diane, it's not that bad. You have me after all." I growled even harder. "Oh, fuck you." She pushed me on the shoulder and then she straddled me, making me turn around.
"I'm old." I fake- cried while covering my face.
"You're old and mine. And I love you."
"Doesn't it bother you that I'm... oh god, almost eight years older than you?"
"Yeah, you're right. I should've never put a ring on it." Nicole laughed and bent down to kiss me.
"Asshole." I whispered to her lips, ending up in a kiss. Our lips moved together, fitting perfectly. This turned into a steamy make out and I could feel my panties getting wet.
"Come on, we need to bake the cake." Nicole yelled, jumping off of me and running out of the room.
I climbed out of the bed while groaning loudly.
...
My 30th birthday replayed in my head, along with an image of Nicole' beautiful face and gorgeous body while I stared at my wedding ring. But suddenly, something interrupted my thoughts.
"Mama, Mama!" Ethan came running into my bedroom and jumping onto the bed. This kid has so much energy, it's unbearable sometimes.
"Hey there, little fella. Are you ready to go?" His face suddenly turned sad and tears were forming in his eyes.
"Do we really need to go?" Every year since the death we visited the grave and he surely wasn't happy about it. But I can't blame him. It's extremely sad for me too.
"Yes, baby, we do."
"I miss Mommy." The image of Nicole appeared in my head again, making me weak. I calmed myself before breaking down in front of my son and making this situation even worse.
"I know, Ethan. I do, too. Every day." I looked deep into his blue eyes, which reminded me of Nicole, I swear, it's amazing how much he looks like her. Audrey, on the other hand, she is a mini me. Long blonde hair and a sassy attitude make her a spitting image of me. I loved that. They were twins, but they had nothing in common.
"Now go get your sister so we can go." I kissed him on the forehead before he left running and screaming Audrey's name.
I fixed my elegant black dress in front of the mirror one last time. I inhaled deeply and turned towards the door.
...
Georgia, Ethan, Audrey and I got out of the car which parked in front of the graveyard. I grabbed the twins hands and went towards the grave. I was never strong enough for this. I broke down every time. Come on, Diane, suck it up. I held their hand tighter and tighter as we approached the place.
But then, the twins gasped and everything seemed to happen in slow motion. I heard Georgia say something behind me but I just froze. Behind a tree that stood tall next to James' grave, the all too familiar brunette was standing there. Her ocean blue eyes pearced into mine as she turned around to welcome her children into a warming hug. She kneeled and spread her hands while smiling and hugging both of them.
"Mrs. Porter? Do you hear me?" Georgia snapped me out of the trance, but I still couldn't find any words. Georgia took the kid away from her as Nicole stood up and looked at me again, with a smile across her stupid face. I ran into her arms without a word and squeezed the living shit out of her. Happy tears rolled down my cheeks as I continued hugging her.
"Hey there, love." There it is. My Australian woman. She was gone for two years, right when the twins turned three, she got recruited again. I remember my heart breaking and my soul leaving the body. I don't know if I would've survived these years if the kids weren't here.
"Where have you been, you asshole?" I cried while yelling and hugging her at the same time. She laughed and parted from me so she could look me in the eyes.
"I'm here now." Nicole pulled me into a long wanted kiss, and I couldn't control myself, my hands immediately started roaming her body, but then I heard Georgia clear her throat.
"Ahem, the kids..." She was covering their eyes and Nicole and I just looked at each other while laughing.
"We'll continue this at home." I rasied my brow while looking at her army uniform and thinking about the things I will do to her. I've missed her so much.
"Oh, I know..."
