Nicole's POV:
I follow Carina down the hall of a very expensive looking restaurant. Yes, I'm back to work. Carina was really understanding when everything happened and she found a replacement.
Now it was time for me to come back, since Diane is doing well and so is little James.
Carina is wearing this magnificent long navy blue dress, looking like she's going to a premiere. When in reality, she just has a date. Yes, a date.
She stopped being annoying and flirty over me. Hence, I got to know her and she turned out to be quite normal. Even fun.
"Good evening, Miss Rye. Your date is waiting for you at the table." The receptionist greets her with a smile.
"Thank you very much." Also, Carina turns out to be quite polite. She turns to me in a quick swift.
"How do I look?"
"Perfect." I smile at her and nod.
She smirks and turns around towards the table. I take my position where I'll be guarding her and glance over at the table.
The woman she met with is also an actress. They really hit it off while filming a commercial for this big company. Her name is Jennifer Crews. You could say I had a curse because I was surrounded by blondes everywhere. Diane, Carina, Jennifer, and now that I think of it, even the receptionist is blonde!
Looking at the two, I couldn't help but remember the first date with my wife. It was magical and unique. What happened later is something that should never be mentioned. I'm glad we survived all the hard moments life threw at us.
I wasn't going to invade their privacy by starring, so I just stood in my place, lost in my thoughts.
It's been several months now and even though James is still small and all, being born early, Diane doesn't let me touch her. She keeps her focus on him all of the time snd doesn't even change in front of me. It's like I'm a complete stranger to her.
We talk normally, we eat together, play with the kids. But when it comes to the bedroom, she doesn't even look at me. I don't want to force her or anything but I can't say it's not driving me crazy. I will definitely speak to her about it sometime soon.
I glanced quickly at the table, seeing that the two are holding hands on the table and talking, not event touching their food. The idea of Carina being so in love like a teenager is so funny.
Eventually, the night came to an end and Carina and I were sitting in the limo. I'm guessing Jennifer and she are taking it slow, otherwise they would be making out and possibly having sex here where I'm seating. At least somebody would be having sex...
I turn to Carina, "Miss Rye, you have something on your face."
"Oh, what, where?" She worriedly tries to wipe the thing of her face.
"Look, it's a smile!" Her laugh echoed in the car and I laughed with her.
"Well, sorry. It's been so long since I went on a date that wasn't a one night stand." Then I remembered that her last long term relationship was with Diane. "Except for..."
"Yeah." Awkward.
"Well, anyway, I'm very pleased to say I have a second date next week with her."
"Alright, way to go!"
"Thank you. And how is your missis?"
"We're currently going through a dry patch, but she's busy with the kids and I'm busy with my job, so..."
"So what? That's no excuse. Don't use me as an excuse. I would be happy to give you a few days off always if it's important." Carina was dead serious.
"You would give me a vacation so that I can have sex?"
"Yes."
"You're crazy."
"That, I know. But I also know you need some shaking or else you'll turn all that sexless, bad energy on me too." Carina winked at me and I chuckled at her craziness.
"We should definitely be friends, Miss Rye."
