Valeska's p.o.v
I walked down the crowded corridor as I made my way to my locker. When I finally came to my locker it felt like I was going to explode from pain, but I still kept fighting through the pain.
"Yo, Valeska!" I heard a familiar voice call.
I turned around to see Cayden and his gang, but it wasn't Cayden that said it, it was that Simon guy that I beat his sorry ass about a month ago. Then I saw Cayden's facial expression when I realized my black eye. Shit, I guess it shone through the make-up. I closed my locker, locked it, and glided in with the other students to my class. I can't believe I'm doing this.
I took a seat in the back as the teacher started the lesson, my thoughts drifted away to Cayden. When I saw him before his expression held anger, but also worry with a hint of care. I would maybe have said love, but I don't know how love looks or feels. The lesson went by fairly quickly and when the bell rang out everybody poured out of the classroom.
My wrist yanked away making me follow. In lack of strength and energy, I followed the person through the school and I felt a chilly breeze from the October weather. I looked at the hand that was holding mine and followed up his arm and then to the back of his head. It was Cayden, of course. His light brown hair flowed in the wind as he dragged me to the back of the school where his friends were waiting.
"What on earth has happened to you, Val?" said Hunter I think.
"I would also like to know that." said Cayden, spinning me around so I was right in front of him a little too close for me, with memories from yesterday beginning to enter my mind.
I took a step back and leaned against the wall when a strong wind came and my long, black hair flew everywhere. I looked at Cayden to see a flash of hurt before turning to anger, sadness, and worry.
"Valeska, really, we worry about you." Hunter said.
"Why would you?"
"Why? That's the problem, we don't know, we are drawn to you, or Cayden's drawn to you, I know it sounds creepy." chuckled Simon.
"We care for you too, but Cayden cares and worries most for you." said Hunter smirking.
"It's true." said Cayden whispered and his hand held mine.
He stood that close to me again but this time I didn't notice it as much. He grabbed me lightly around my waist pushing me towards him, my cuts made contact with him and I hissed slightly. He hugged me carefully and placed his face on my shoulder.
"I'm so sorry if I accidentally did hurt you, sweetheart." he said and placed a kiss that lingered a little.
"Shit! Guys, you don't have time for hugging, my mom's here!! Run!" said Simon.
"Come on, baby." Cayden smiled at me.
I smiled weakly as he once more dragged me with him.
This guy.
"SIMON JONES, YOU ARE COMING BACK RIGHT NOW AND YOU TOO BOYS!!!" a woman shouted and everybody stopped in their tracks and ashamedly walked back to the woman.
"Look mom, I'm so sorry-" tried Simon.
"You are not sorry, my phone has blown up with messages that you weren't on the lessons, if you don't begin going on the lessons you will change school to a private school, and that's it!"
"And you boys aren't on the lessons either. Go. Now." she said and we all began walking towards the school, the boys a little ashamed, but not Cayden.
"You, girly, can I talk to you?" she said and I walked to her.
"I'm sorry, my name is Suzan Jones, Simon's mom. I always look out for the boys. What's your name, sweetie?" she said in a much nicer voice.
"My name is Valeska, ma'am."
"Oh gosh, call me Suzan. I know we don't know each other but would you like to do me a favor?"
"Sure."
"Could you look after the boys?"
"I guess I could"
"Thank you, Valeska"
"Oh, one more thing. What happened to your face? Are you okay?" she said worried?
"I'm okay, Suzan, I just got into some trouble." I said, wanting to smile to assure her I was okay, but I didn't.
"It's okay if you don't want to talk about it." she said, smiled, and drove off.
I walked to where the guys were staring at me.
"I guess I have to stick with you guys now." I sighed and looked down.
"Yes! I have to thank mom!" Simon said and hugged me, hard, too hard.
"Simon let go of me, please!"
"It hurts." I whispered, hoping that he wouldn't hear.
He let go of me looking at me questioning.
"I know that I hug people hard when I'm happy, but I don't hurt them." he said serious.
Cayden pushed Simon out of his way to make his way to me taking my face in between his hands looking at me gravely. I looked behind him but the other guys were gone. It was only me and him for the moment.
He studied my face, every inch, yet I didn't feel uncomfortable.
"I don't like that you're hurt." he said at last in a soft voice.
I didn't know what to say. I just looked sideways not wanting to meet his eyes.
"Princess, I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the person who did this to you. Please look at me." he said and for some reason, my eyes just turned to meet his. It felt like he meant it.
"How can I trust you?" I asked in a small voice, smaller than I wanted it to be.
"Because I care for you, madly, okay?" he said and gently creased my left cheek.
I said nothing, I was thinking, thinking if I should let him in. I finally decided to tell him a little but only if he asks. Things can't get any worse.
"Can we go?" I asked.
"Can I get a hug? I'll be careful, I need a hug from you." he said and I wrapped my arms around his torso and he laid his head upon mine.
"This is just what I needed, a hug from you, it had to be your hug no one else's, they don't really cut it. You're the best, Love." he whispered in my ear.
His words made my knees jelly, did he think that? I nearly wanted to cry from his sweet words, but I couldn't, I didn't have any tears left.
