"Why are you here?" The leader asked.

"I have no idea, I was sitting under a tree an-." I rambled, not sure what to say.

My sentence was cut short as the woman beside the leader hit me in the ribs with the back end of her sword. The air left my lungs as I fell to the floor. I regained my breath and pushed myself back to my feet the best I could with my arms in chains. The second I stood back up, I was hit again, harder this time. The leader seemed impressed with the fact that I got up for the second time.

"Em pleni (Enough)!" the leader said, in her own language, standing up from her throne.

"Why were you out there alone?" she asked.

"I ran away." I answered, looking at the ground.

"Why?" said the other woman, in a cold manner.

"Shofop, Indra (Quiet, Indra)!" the leader scolded, once again in the language I didn't understand.

The woman I now knew as Indra bowed her head and left the room. I nervously gulped as she walked past me, glaring at me as she went.

The leader asked more questions about the camp and if they were a threat, to which I answered no. She continued to ask me why I ran away.

"I did something that everyone was afraid of me for, I didn't fit in." I said. I had no idea why I was spilling my life story to a stranger, but right now I didn't feel as if it mattered. I'll probably be dead in a few hours.

"What is it that you did?" She asked curiously.

I shook my head and looked towards the ground, attempting to hold the tears back.

"If you want to stay here, you have to tell me the truth." she said, boldly.

My head snapped up.

"I can stay?" I asked her. I was surprised she would even let me live.

"You seem strong, nobody has ever stood back up after Indra strikes them down, you're the first, I'm impressed." she said, with a small smile.

I ended up telling her everything about me, about my brother, the ark, the camp. I didn't hold back, not once. It's not like she'll ever have any links to The 100, right? This is my chance to have a new start.

The leader walked towards me and began raising her hand. I looked away expecting a hit, which didn't come; instead she grabbed my bound forearms gently and helped me stand.

"If you are keen to stay, you must learn our ways." she said, looking at me kindly.

"My name is Lexa, I am the commander of Trikru (The forest clan) and you will refer to me as Heda (Commander) around the rest of the clan, are we clear?" she said. I nodded my head eagerly and waited for what she was going to say next.

"You may stay here as long as you are loyal to the clan and never return to your previous camp unless instructed to." I nodded my head again.

"Use your words, Quinn." she said, saying my name for the first time.

"I understand, Heda (Commander)" I said, testing out the new language.

She smiled proudly before instructing 2 larger men to unbuckle my chains. Once I was loose, she grabbed hold of my forearm.

"You will start your training with Indra as soon as possible." she said. As soon as that name rolled off of her tongue, I felt like running for the hills. I just hope she wouldn't be as harsh during our sessions.
