Ice Age 2 - The Meltdown (Diego x OC!)

Chapter 9 ~ Affections Confirmed

Kitty's pov~

After a long silence, Diego decided to break it, "Hey Kitty? Could you come with me please?" he gently asked me

I looked up at him, and smiled "Sure Diego" i said kindly to him

We both stood up, and walked together into the forest. There was a peaceful silence between us, when Diego broke it, again "I've got to tell you something" he said as he look at me seriously

Oh boy, i wonder what he has to say? I nodded and sat infront of him

He sighed, and looked extremely nervous. I tilted my head at him, "Diego, whats wrong?" i kindly asked him

Before i knew it, he began to retreat again, "Forget it Kitty, you wont accept it anyways" he told me roughly. I kinda got mad at him

I ran infront of him "What? You expect me to come here for nothing? I want you to tell me, now!" i ordered him with my eyes narrowed

He gave in a low growl, which honestly scared me abit. He walked past me roughly. I then shouted, "Why wont you tell me?! God Diego your so difficult!" 

He stopped dead in his tracks. I can tell he's pissed at me. Very pissed. "You want to know?" he questioned me silently, as he turned around and looked me dead in the eyes

I gasped lightly, "Fine then ill tell you" he growled out as he began walking towards me

I retreated backwards, my gaze focused on Diego. And before i knew it, i was against the tree. I gasped at the sudden contact. And Diego was right infront of me now. I sat myself down, while my heart was thumping loudly

"Im scared Kitty! Im scared of the flood, and that im going to lose you! I love you okay?!" he told me loudly as small prickles of tears escaped his emerald green eyes.

I gasped at what he said. He.. loves me? I smiled softly at him, and licked his cheek lovingly. He looked at me with a surprised expression

"I love you to, Diego" i confessed aswell

He smiled lovingly at me, we nuzzled eachother "Be my mate?" he whispered into my ear

I smiled and nodded in return

We then together walked back to the camp, and when we got there, we both noticed that Manny and Ellie weren't there.

"Sid, where are the others?" i asked him, as me and Diego layed down together. We were cuddling eachother. "Oh, they went to get me more wood! And i see you two are together now" the cheerful sloth stated with a smile as he looked at us

"Yeah, we are" Diego stated as he nuzzled my ear lovingly, making me purr slightly

"Awe~ you two are adorable" Sid awed 

That comment made me blush a little. I then heard the others come in.

Sid protected his fire, as he remembered when Ellie washed it away with an puddle. He gave in a happy smile as he saw the fire still alive and going.

As soon as the two walked past, they dropped the wood next to the fire, giving Sid access to the wood if he needs some. When he's happy with the fire, he grabs the bark he's using as his bed, and drags it towards us. 

"Remember the good ol' days?" Sid starts to make a conversation to the two of us, while dragging his bark to a place he feels comfortable with.

"What good ol' days?" Diego questions Sid. Sid speaks up after he dropped his 'bed' on the ground

"Ah! You know, yesterday, last week. Back when the tree's went up and the ground went under our feet?" as he finishes, he sweeps the bark with his tail, and he attempts to get all off the dirt from it. When he gets to the edge though, he sweeps the dirt towards me and Diego. But the dirt isn't something that we're worried about.

The smelly sloths tail is, when it nearly reaches our faces, making us grimace. But Diego being Diego, made more of a scene about it then i did.

"Yep! Those we're the good days. Possums were possums, and mammoths were mammoths" Diego sleepily states. 

"We should get some sleep" i spoke up to the two, with Diego nodding and nuzzling my shoulder affectionately

"Yeah. Tomorrow's the day that the vulture said we're all going to die!" and then he literally fell asleep.

Diego yawned, "Goodnight Kitty" he whispered as he licked my cheek sleepily

I giggled quitely and responded back, "Goodnight, Diego" i whispered back as i nuzzled him on the cheek and fell asleep besides him. 

Tomorrow is the day, that the flood happens.. I hope that we all will make it alive..
