❝decisions❞
Jimin sneaks out of the brig later that night, he's calm down now, feeling slightly guilty for his outburst but he knows he had to get it out. Most of the pirates are asleep by this time, the wind is brittle as he steps foot onto the main deck, sucking in a breath as he tip toes in his bare feet towards the captain's chambers. He stands out in front of the door, raising his clenched fist to the door and he wavers, frozen and thinking about the outcome, what will happen if he steps foot inside. Will he fall even more in love with the man or loathe him? Will he hold himself back or go crazy.
He thinks about everything but he's already knocking softly on the door, maybe it's too quiet for the captain to here, or maybe he regrets telling Jimin to come to his room. The siren is about to walk off but the door opens and Jimin's doe eyes stare in shock, his mouth opening even though what else is he supposed to see? It's just the captain, messy black hair, white shirt and Dark trousers rolled up to his knees, his eyes dark and sparkly. Casual.
"You came," Yoongi quirks his eyebrows and Jimin nods slightly. "Come in," the captain says, opening his door wider for Jimin to slip in and as the siren does, he takes in the room properly, the first time he was preoccupied, thrown on the floor and fighting with the captain had him preoccupied but its slightly messy in the room, a large bed between large bookcases with rows and rows of maps, scrolls and books to read, he doesn't know how to read but he doesn't know why he wishes for Yoongi to read to him.
There's a table in the centre of the room, covered in scrolls and maps, a quill and ink. There's a large set of windows looking out at the ocean and a dark wood wardrobe. The room was large and Jimin was fascinated, candle lit. He can't help but walk over to the books, running the pads of his fingers against them, some were expensively produced leather bound books, some were just cheap, Jimin let's his fingers feel at the spine of the books, engraved with patterns and letters.
"Fascinating."
"You like books?" Yoongi asks.
"Can't read," jimin replies with a sigh of disappointment.
Yoongi hums as the siren turns to look at him. "I want to know who you are, everything."
Yoongi sits down on the edge of his bed, patting a spot beside him. Jimin walks over and cautiously sits down, hands in his lap. "What would you like to know?" Yoongi asks, leaning closer to Jimin, pressing his forehead against his and Jimin squeezes his eyes shut, pushing at yoongi's chest to create space.
"Tell me about you, how or why did you decide to be a criminal."
Yoongi sucks in a breath, "I grew up hearing about the story, the story of the knight and the prince, about the laws and the rules, I hated walking past the town square when I was younger, seeing how they punished people for petty crimes," Yoongi says, grimacing,
"the hangings scared me the most," he gulps, touching his own neck gingerly.
"Since i can remember the thought of getting hanged terrified me, my neck had always ached at the thought, my throat would go dry and I'd feel sick at the thought," Yoongi says and jimin nods, surprised to see the raw truth, the raw feeling Yoongi gives off. Jimin feels a sense of pride run through him, how the captain is opening up like this to him.
"My father was or is a merchant I'd be by the port helping him, moving cargo and he'd let me on the ship, play with the helms, I'd go to sea with him to export things and I loved every part of it. Except I heard about these men of the sea, not mariners or merchants, it was these criminals, who refused to abide by the laws, I was fifteen at the time."
