They pull them back on the ship with rope, jimin gasping for air as he falls onto the deck, convulsing in pain because of the painful metamorphic transformation, he writhes in pain as his gills close and his tail sheds into legs, when he's back to his human form Hoseok puts a large button up shirt around his shoulders. He thanks him, buttoning it but leaving the top three buttons undone as he scrambles up to his feet.
He rushes to Yoongi who is beside him, the pirates surrounding him as well, the captain trembling, his breathing shallow and he's mumbling something, his words slurred.
"I think he has hypothermia," Hoseok blurts out and Jimin looks up at him, eyebrows knitting together, one hand resting on Yoongi's chest.
"What the fuck is that?" He asks, glancing down at Yoongi whose lips were practically blue, Namjoon wrapping a blanket around Yoongi's shoulders as they help him sit up.
"I-it's uh... nothing but he needs to be treated, we need to be gentle with him, bring him to his quarter's," Hoseok instructs and Hoseok and another pirate lift Yoongi up, putting the captain's arms over their shoulders. Jimin lets out a shaky breath as namjoon puts his hands on his shoulders.
"What you did was really dangerous and idiotic."
"I live in the water, I saved his life, we wouldn't have had a captain at all," jimin growls out as Jeongguk puts a blanket around his shoulders to give him more warmth. "It's more than you ever did."
"Don't act like you're all tough shit because you're fucking the captain, Jimin, we could have lost both of you, the storm was awful."
"Joon," Jeongguk says almost warning him, giving a pointed look. "He saved his life, you should be thankful."
"I'll just be blunt, I don't like you, Jimin, I don't like you with Captain and at first I just went with it because I thought you would just be a toy for him, something for him to relax but he's growing soft because of you. We don't need a captain who is too busy fucking some creature and being all soft, we need a captain who can lead us, you're ruining everything by being here," namjoon snaps. Jimin's doe eyes widen at Namjoon's words, shaking with anger and he steps up to the quartermaster who doesn't back down.
Jeongguk moves into the middle of them, holding them back from one another. "I could rip your throat out like this," jimin says, snapping his finger for emphasis as he hisses at namjoon. "I'll make those scars on your eye deeper if you fucking talk to me like that again, you hear me?" Jimin snaps.
"Please don't fight, we have to repair the ship and we have the two of you back and cap' is sick, that's all that matters now and you guys can loathe each other all you want but we have more important things to worry about now, we're supposed to be a family," Jeongguk says
Jimin nods, inhaling and exhaling to call himself down before he turns around to go to Yoongi's quarters instead, balling his fists at his side because how dare namjoon say that? He was one of them, at least he thought he was. He slips into the room to see Yoongi sitting on the bed, dressed in some dry clothes, wrapped in blankets and drinking something that has steam coming from it. His skin is a deathly pale colour, his eyes trained on the floor, he looks zoned out.
"Jimin, monitor his breathing tonight, okay? Make sure he doesn't get out of bed and that he stays warm no matter how annoying he gets about working, he needs to get better."
"aye."
"We were worried that both of you would be gone, you saved him, thank you so much," Hoseok smiles softly, going to leave but jimin speaks up.
"How do you know about all of this, how to treat him?"
"You'll learn about it another time," Hoseok says and it's ominous and Jimin twists his face in confusion, wondering what the Bosun could possibly mean. As the man slips out he walks towards the captain.
"Are you okay?"
"You saved my life," Yoongi mumbles, still shivering quitte a bit.
"Why wouldn't I? You're my matelot," Jimin giggles softly, he touches Yoongi's face, his cheeks rosy and cold. "I can't let you die," Jimin says and the thought of that makes him cringe he doesn't know why he thinks 'not this time, not again.' "You're so cold," Jimin whispers, sitting down beside him on the bed, taking his freezing hands into his, bringing them up to his mouth and he blows on the pirate's hands, rubbing his smaller hands over Yoongi's to warm them up, kissing his hand in between puffs of air.
"How do you live out there."
"I've lived in there my whole life."
"What was it like when you were younger?" Yoongi asks curiously and Jimin tries to recall a memory of when he was young... but he can't. He can't remember anything from the past almost as if he didn't have one, he had to of had memories of him as a child but he's been like this, he's looked like this since he can remember, he does age but he can't recall having a childhood.
"I don't know, I don't remember."
"Did you have parents?"
"I don't know," he says again and his hands fall into his lap, "I don't know who I am," he mumbles but he knows he should be more worried about yoongi so he wraps his arms around him, trying to warm him up, pushing away his thoughts of himself, his past to focus on the present.
"Am I making you soft?" Jimin asks, brushing his lips against Yoongi's but when the pirate goes for a full kiss Jimin pulls away until they're mere centimetres apart.
"Blimey," Yoongi says, kissing jimin's neck before leaning his head against him, eyes closing because he feels fatigued. "If anything you've went on account, you're the one much more..."
"I've been strong even before I was on this ship, if you're trying to say I became tougher being on here, I've always been."
"Aye," Yoongi laughs weakly, "I meant you've become soft, you scared me before, matelot."
"Oh," Jimin smiles faintly at the thought, leaning his cheek on top of Yoongi's head.
"I see."
