Jimin's breath catches in his throat as makes it to the cove he once lived in, eyes scanning the area and that's when he sees him, the familiar blue eyed and blonde siren sitting on the rocks, basking in the sunlight, eyes closed as he soaks up the sun. His long scaly grey tail dipped in the water.

"Taehyung!" He shouts and the Siren's ears perk up, eyes opening and turning to look at Jimin, blinking a couple times as if to see if it's really him. In a split second the siren dives into the water to swim to his friend and when he's near he wraps his arms around a Jimin in a tight hug, petting the pinkette's hair.

"I thought they killed you!" He wails in relief and Jimin smiles softly as Taehyung pulls away to cup his cheeks. "You look... happy? How'd you get away? What even happened!" He exclaims and Jimin leans into Taehyung's touch, missing his family.

"There's so much to tell you," Jimin says, "but you can't tell Seokjin."

His ember speckled brown eyes look over Taehyung's face, realizing how different they are from the pirates. He knows Taehyung has had chemistry with the Bosun. Maybe they would be understanding.

The setting sun makes the sky look like fire with a mix of gradient pink. Yoongi leans against the railing of the ship, clenching his eyes shut because everything reminds him of his love. His heart clenches at the thought of Jimin, how bad he misses him when he just left.

"Cap' you look miserable," Hoseok says, walking over with two pitchers of rum, holding one out for the captain. Yoongi takes it with a quick 'thanks' taking a sip as he stares out at the quiet ocean.

"I look how I feel. It's like as soon as I got him I let him slip through my fingers."

He's never opened up before, not about his feels. He's always had a tough exterior around his men but Jimin changed that, he's broken down his walls, they've seen their captain vulnerable and in love. Hopefully that's a good thing.

"He's missing you just as bad, I know it. What you two have... it's special," Hoseok reassures, patting Yoongi's shoulder.

Yoongi nods, eyes fleeting back to the sky, touching his mermaid pendant around his neck, heart aching to be with Jimin once again.

"What happened?" Taehyung asks, hand holding Jimin's and his eyes flicker down to look at the shiny ring adorning the Siren's finger. They sit on rocks looking out at the coast and Jimin can see the large ship moving farther and farther away out of sight, disappearing along with the light. It's only a speck in the horizon, where the sky and the water meet.

"I met a pirate, the man I was with," Jimin tells him. "They took me and I was terrified, I feared what'd they do to me because of what the commoners talk about in town, how scary and dangerous they are but... along with that, most of them are decent people with good hearts," Jimin smiles softly at the end, looking down at his webbed hands. "I met my Corsair, my Matelot. He was so kind even though I couldn't trust him at first but he swept me off my feet. The fact that I even had them for that long amazes me," Jimin laughs softly and Taehyung's eyes are wide with curiosity, blue eyes now a soft brown colour.

"I fell in love with him and I didn't know I could feel at all, he made me feel loved and we got married," Jimin gushes at the end, holding out his hand. "After we had a night together he said he wanted to be with me and we became mates," Jimin says.

"But I had to leave, to see you and Seokjin, our pack," Jimin says and Taehyung sighs, staring out at the horizon.

"You'd rather be with him, wouldn't you?"

Jimin bites his lip, he's torn, sadness and confusion swimming in his eyes. "I don't know what I want but I know I want him, I want my family and—" he puts his head in his hands. "I want it all but it's impossible," he cries out in frustration. "I want Yoongi but I can't have him fully unless I leave here and I want to stay but then I'm leaving the love of my life."

"Jimin, you can have it all, you just can't have it all at once. What matters to you the most?"

"I don't know."

Jimin is torn between knowing if it's meant to be, it will be and if he wants it to go get it. How does he balance everything all at once? He feels the weight on his shoulders, holding him down. He feels like he's drowning even though it's not possible, not this time.

"How did you do it with Hoseok?"

"We just went wherever the tide would take us, whenever he visited. He lived in a village near this cove and he wasn't afraid of me like everyone else, he didn't see me as some sea creature just as me. I take it that's how you felt?"

Jimin can only nod.

"I let him be free, he wanted to be a pirate so I let him and he always came back to me." The pink haired siren touches the pendant around his neck. He sighs softly in thought. "He gave you a ring, he cares for you and I know he'll come back. I'm just glad you're okay and you're happy," Taehyung says and then he hugs Jimin to his chest and Jimin can't help but cry. He misses Yoongi already, he misses his warm touch and how he makes him feel at home. Why doesn't he feel like this is home for him anymore? Taehyung is something familiar but it doesn't feel like home.

Yoongi is his home.

"Don't cry."

"I miss him."

He lets out hiccupy sobs, salty tears rolling down his rosy cheeks. "I miss home." He feels homesick without Yoongi and it hurts, it pains him to know that Yoongi is long gone now. He can only trust that he'll be back for him.

"Wait until Seokjin sees you," Taehyung laughs and Jimin hides his face in Taehyung's neck. He knows how Seokjin loathes humans, especially pirates. He hates them with a passion and he doesn't know what will happen.

What if he finds out?
