As soon as I went out of the doctor's room Landon stood up from his seat, grabbed my shoulders and looked me up and down for any not seen injuries.
Worried he stared at me. "What did the doctor say? Are you okay? Do you need something? I can..."
I just sighed and hugged him. I started to see how deeply Landon cared for me. It still didn't mean I was going to forget what he had done but it was a little step towards a friendship.
At least I thought so. He probably saw it different.
Landon stiffened for a second and shut up, totally confused about my sudden reaction, but as soon as he realised I gave him some sort of affection he threw his arms around me and pulled my body close to his.
"I'm worried about you Katie. Never run away again." He murmured and pressed a kiss onto my temple.
I didn't reply to his words.
A moment went by and I loosened my grip around his neck but Landon being Landon didn't accept that and lifted me up.
"Hey let me down!" I screeched and struggled but he didn't.
"You need to eat something and I'm not letting you walk around anymore. You passed out and it might happen again so be a good girl."
Huffing I crossed my arms over my chest while he carried me back to the room I woke up in.
But as I was tugged in the sheets again he didn't leave like I wanted him to.
No! He stayed right by my side and phoned a woman roughly telling her to make us food!
I can't believe him! Doesn't he have any respect?!
"Stop being so rude to her you moron and treat the lady with respect."
I snapped at him.Logan immediately stopped talking and looked at me wide eyed.
As he saw my eyes squint his Adam's apple bob up and down while he swallowed. With a nervous look in his eyes he began talking again but looked at me nervously and...scared?
Am I hallucinating?
After Landon ended the call with a "Thank you madame." I nodded in approval.
"That's the right way to treat a person. I hope you'll learn your lesson." Landon nodded frantically and his eyes sparkled as my mouth turned upwards slightly.
The man in front of me didn't act like the Landon I knew back in school.
This Landon acted like a puppy wanting to impress their loved ones.
Such a weird situation I got myself into.
After a while of staring and smiling creepily at me Landon snapped out of his state.
"I ehm Katie do you wanna watch TV or do anything? We can do everything you wanna do! Maybe you also wanna go to the cinema? Or we could..."
I interrupted him before his flood of words could continue.
"Do you have a library in here?" My cheeks warmed, meaning I was blushing.
Landon's eyes started to wide so far I thought they would be falling out any second. Then his mouth stretched and the predator grinned at his prey.
"Of course! Why didn't I think of that before!"
He grabbed me around my waist, a little too enthusiastic for my liking and pulled me plus the duvet up.
A moment later we were out of the room. At fast pace Landon stormed through his mess of corridors until we stood in front of a big, dark and old looking door.
The man didn't waste a second and after some moments the doors opened.
I was speechless.
It's so beautiful in here!
I was set down on a comfortable arm chair and Landon kneed in front of me.
"It's so beautiful in here." I whispered in awe as I looked around more.
If I had to stay here longer my time would be wasted in here rather than this boring bedroom I woke up in.
"I'm glad you like it Katie." Immediately I snapped out of my daze. Why do I always forget I'm not alone?!
A rosé colour slowly began to tint my cheeks as I looked back to the man looking up to me like a little lost puppy happy to see a soul he knows.
Landon must have finally seemed to sense my discomfort as he quickly stood up and excused himself to look for the food he ordered.
As soon as he was out of my sight and the room I stood up and walked around, looking closely at every shelf of books.
There were some of my favorites but majority I didn't know. Time to change that!
I picked out an interesting sounding one and hurried back to the chair I had been sitting in, excited to sink into a world of fantasy and adventurous moments.
Landon's POV:
Everything will be fine. Now it will!
I chuckled as I continued to go down the hall. She will stay!I surely saw the look on her face as we entered the book collection of my grandpa. Now I have her safely with me.
I never would have thought books where the key to keeping her here with me.
I whistled as I stepped into the kitchen and some of the maids who work for me turned around wide eyed.
Well...I can't blame them. Usually my mood wasn't all that...weird?
But Katie changes me more, day after day. I've been the happiest man on earth since she's here.
Except as she tried to run of course...
Suddenly I get a panicked feeling. What if she runs away again while I'm down here?!
My good mood vanished, my steps get faster and a moment later I'm in front of the cook simply telling her we're in the library and run upstairs.
My heart beating increased as my hands were shaking frantically the moment I stood in front of the door so I jerk it open expecting the worst.
But the best I get to see...
Finally a new update!! More will come soon🙈
