"What movie do you wanna watch next? I mean I'm totally up for watching mean girls again," Scott asked as Mitch walked over to the wall so he could charge his phone. Mitch plugged it in and set it down, walking back over to Scott. He sat down on the couch and rested his head on his best friend's shoulder.
It was Saturday night, and it had surprisingly been Mitch's idea that they stay in and watch movies instead of going out to a club or a party or something and getting drunk beyond belief. But alas, Mitch was still Mitch and they had a wine bottle on the table and a wine glass in front of each of them. Mitch downed the remaints of his glass and then grabbed the bottle, pouring himself some more. He looked at Scott who was next to him on his phone and shoving popcorn in his mouth. Mitch leaned over and took the popcorn bowl right out of Scott's hands.
"Share some, you big sasquatch," Mitch said, grabbing a handful and eating it. Scott scowled and tried to snatch it back, but Mitch was quicker and he moved it out of Scott's reach, lifting in the air.
"Stooop, you're gonna spill on the carpet!" Scott said mockingly, putting his hands up to his stubbly cheeks in feigned horror.
"I," Mitch said. "Don't spill. You're the fucking gorilla who thinks everything is durable and can be fixed by a flick of the wrist." Scott rolled his eyes but pouted. He picked up the iPad, which they had synced to the tv, up from the table and unlocked it, the screen immediately opening to Netflix.
"Well now if you're done insulting me, we should choose the next movie," Scott said, looking at Mitch pointedly.
"Alright. I'm kinda in a sappy mood, ooh- let's watch a sad movie! Please?" Mitch said. Scott raised one eyebrow.
"Why do you want to watch a sad movie? I want to watch a scary movie," Scott replied.
"You can watch a scary movie if you want, but I'm going to your room where the other tv is. I am not watching a scary movie right now," Mitch said, starting to stand up. Scott grabbed his arm quickly and pulled him back down.
"No! Sit down! We'll watch a sad movie!" Scott insisted, and Mitch smiled smugly as he grabbed the iPad from Scott. He started scrolling through the movies and Scott stared at Mitch. He noticed how his eyes were illuminated by the iPad light shining on his face, and how the dim ligh contrasting to the dark room made Mitch even more beautiful. He had barely visible bags under his eyes, but then again who didn't. His defined cheekbones only made his face prettier to look at, and that same strand of hair that Mitch hated was out of place, but Scott loved it. Mitch was beautiful, and there was no denying it.
"Scott?" Mitch asked, snapping Scott out of his trance. Scott blinked a few times and looked at Mitch questioningly.
"What? Sorry, I zoned out for a few moments there," Scott said.
"It's alright. Did you ever watch Marley & Me? It came out so long ago, but I remember watching it, I think whenwe were in high school is when it came out. Like me," Mitch said, causing them both to laugh at his joke.
"No, I don't think I did. Let's watch it," Scott said, leaning over Mitch and clicking play.
"I'm probably gonna cry," Mitch said warningly.
"I won't. I'm a man," Scott said, puffing out his chest. Mitch stared him down with both eyebrows raised until Scott slumped back down.

Mitch and Scott were crying of laughter. They had just gotten Marley, and he was still a puppy. They had decided to take the dog to the beach, and he had run away, causing the main character to chase him all over the beach.
"Oh god," Mitch said, wiping his eyes. "Marley's almost as wild as you are."
"Hey!" Scott exclaimed. Mitch laughed and they went back to their position, Mitch's head on Scott's chest. It was purely friendly, mind you.
~
"I.. can't.. believe.. he died," Mitch said in between sobs. He felt Scott put his arms around him, and they held each other while crying, Scott softly and Mitch wasn't even trying to conceal his sadness. Mitch wiped his eyes but that didn't help the stream of tears that were still coming from his eyes or the sobs that were racking his body. The waterworks had started right when they had put Marley down, and they hadn't stopped.
Scott claim of being a man had been to no avail, because he was crying as well. "I know Mitchie. It was only a movie," Scott said soothingly as Mitch cried into his chest.
"Why did he have to die?" Mitch asked after a few moments of composing himself. His eyes were drying up and he was calming down. Scott's tears had already stopped, but his heart was still heavy.
"I don't know. It wasn't fair though," Scott said. He pulled away from Mitch and looked him in the eyes. They were both quiet but their eyes were locked together in an unspoken understanding. Scott's eyes flickered down to Mitch's lips and back up to his eyes, and Mitch did the same. They leaned forward at the same time, their lips meeting and engulfing each other in a passionate kiss.
It wasn't heated, it was a spur of the moment impulse, but neither of them cared. Their mouths moved against each others and all the sadness from the movie was erased in that moment.
"Scott, wh- what was that?" Mitch asked.
"I don't know. I just want to keep kissing you," Scott said, grabbing Mitch and pulling them close once more.
this is one of those I'll leave it to your imagination to come up with what happens next.
