Scott wheeled his suitcase along and sat down in the waiting area. He took a deep breath and looked at his plane ticket. A one way ticket to London. He still couldn't believe he was moving there, it had been a rash decision on his part but he was at the airport now and there was no going back.

Scott was just tired of Los Angeles and had decided to just.. go. He'd had an existential crisis in the middle of the night a few weeks ago, and had made a snap decision to move to London. He knew he was still young, he still had so many places to go and people to meet and things to do. There was nothing to lose.

He would, of course, be sad to leave his best friend Kirstie, but he had friends in London who would take care of him until he could land on his own feet.

He would also have to leave his other best friends, Avi and Kevin, who he had met through Kirstie. They were all amazing people, but he just knew that Los Angeles was just not the place for him anymore.

Everything was perfect. He was 23 years old and ready to do something with his life. And hopefully, he would find someone that would complete him. He had tried dating a guy named Evan, which only ended in Evan cheating. He'd dated a guy named Alex, who had only used him. In the love department, Scott had given up, but now he was ready to finally find someone and settle down. And if he found nothing for himself in the planned two years he'd be in London, then he'd fly back to Los Angeles and just see where things would go from there.

As he boarded his flight to London, he could only hope for the best and try to keep an open mind.

~Time Skip. 2 years later~

Mitch placed his black suitcase in the compartment over his head, thankfully without any difficulty. He slumped down against the seat and was thankful he got a window seat. He took out his black headphones and placed them over his ears. He turned on his music on his iPod and closed his eyes. LA, here I come, He thought as he drifted off.

Mitch was startled awake and took his headphones off. He checked his phone and frowned. There was no way he was already in Los Angeles. It had only been 3 hours, and the flight from Italy to Los Angeles was supposed to be 14 hours. He peered over the seats and the other passengers looked confused. At least he wasn't the only one. Finally, the pilot began speaking over the intercom.

"This is your captain speaking. Due to scheduling mix ups, we are making a quick stop in London to pick up some passengers. We will then continue on our journey to our destination of Los Angeles. Thank you," He said. A bunch of people groaned, and Mitch was one of them.

"You've gotta be kidding me," Mitch muttered. He was going back to Los Angeles, where he lived by himself after having stayed in Italy with his parents for a month. He had hoped for a quick, smooth flight. Apparently, it wasn't going to work that way. He yawned and unlocked his iPhone. Thankfully, it still had 80% battery. He unlocked it and opened instagram. He scrolled through his feed for a little while, occasionally liking pics here and there. He sensed a presence and turned to the left. He looked up and saw a tall blonde guy, who had apparently just boarded the plane, looking at him.

"Um.. hi," Mitch said. He's cute, Mitch thought as he waited for the other guy to speak.

"Hello, would you mind if I sat with you?" The tall man said. He had a slight british accent that obviously indicated that he lived in London, but wasn't a native. Mitch took a few more seconds to look at him but finally snapped out of it.

"Not at all," Mitch said with a smile. "I'm Mitch by the way."

"I'm Scott, lovely meeting you," Scott said as he reached up to put his suitcase in the compartment at the top. Mitch watched him, but then something caught his eye. Scott's wallet was barely hanging out of his pocket and when he reached up, it fell out. it landed on the ground and opened. Mitch leaned over the seat to pick it up for him and he noticed that a picture fell out. He picked it up, because that would be the nice thing to do, and he gasped. Scott was still struggling to get his suitcases to fit, so he took no notice.

Mitch, however, was in shock. He recognized himself immediately. It was a picture from their yearbook, and he remembered the superlative he won. 'Best of Friends' with his best friend, Scott Hoying. They lost contact after Scott moved away, and it had been 7 years. But he knew it was him and Scott, because it was different pictures of the two of them that he remembered. But he couldn't believe it. Scott was right there. Right in front of him. His best friend through junior high and high school was literally right there.

"S- Scott?" Mitch stuttered. Scott finally closed the compartment and looked at him tiredly but still attentive.

"What's up?" Scott asked.

"You dropped your wallet, and I found this picture. Scott, that's me. Mitch Grassi," Mitch said. Scott's jaw dropped and he looked back and forth between the picture and Mitch a few times.

"Mitch oh my god I am so glad I've found you!" Scott exclaimed. He sat down next to Mitch and pulled him in for a tight hug. Mitch wrapped his arms around Scott's neck and they sat hugging for a few moments before backing away. Scott kept his arm around Mitch's shoulders.

"Tell me about yourself," Mitch said.

"Well, I lived in LA after I dropped out of the University of Southern California. I lived with Kirstie, d'you remember her?" Scott asked. Mitch furrowed his brow but shook his head.

"Well anyways, after I dropped out I decided that I wanted to do something with my life, anything. I moved to London and I lived there for 2 years with an old friend. I've always missed Los Angeles, so I knew I couldn't stay in London. Back in LA I worked as a teacher's assistant for a choir group, and I was a songwriter in London. That's basically it," Scott said. Mitch nodded thoughtfully.

"Well, my life hasn't been really eventful," Mitch said. The pilot announced that their flight would be taking off shortly, but neither man noticed. They were to engrossed in each other to care.

"I'm currently a DJ and trade off gigs at clubs, but I've been doing some things with modeling shoots and stuff," Mitch said, blushing. Scott's eyes lit up.

"Are you ashamed of that? Dont' be! Male modeling is a very good industry, if I do say so myself, and besides, you've got the looks for it," Scott said, smirking, much to Mitch's surprise.

And that's how the rest of the plane ride went. They talked and laughed and argued and obsessed over their similarities and shared stories and got more familiar with each other.

It was high school all over again, except better.
