the Peterson's basement

Jughead's voiceover : Just as every Saturday night the Blossoms kids , Peterson kids and the Allcott kids spend the afternoon in the Peterson's basement getting ready for the biggest event in riverdale just after Carter's iconic Birthdays parties , the Cabin party ..."

Anthony and Lily sat together in a large chair, body. Cheryl all by herself. Carter and Jason sat on the couch across from them Carter with her legs across the sofa and in Jason's lap. They had all been chatting mindlessly while on their phones until Cheryl cleared her throat, drawing everyone's attention to her. also Megan ,James , Mason

Cheryl : "so since someone," Cheryl started but paused to glare at Jason from her spot before she continued. "Didn't show up to Pop's yesterday we should talk about the trip to the cabin and the first qualifier party." She explained as she ran her finger's through her own hair.

Anthony :" it's an A party so Megan and Mason are technically in charge of that , they are new and they are Allcott's." Anthony stated, pulling Lily closer into his body. They had been always closer than Carter and Mason who were hard trying to act as an couple it had always been so easy for them to be close even though Anthony was a womanizer he seemed to care about her and put her on first place

Mason looked up and nodded in agreement with Anothony .

Mason : ""That's true, and the A party isn't that big of a deal anyway. Everyone is invited and basically everyone shows up. Someone is going to have to get their hands on a stockpile of alcohol but other than that there's really no planning involved. Plus it's next weekend so it's not like we would have time to plan even if we needed to we are new in things like that we didn't ever make a party like that but i am happy you've asked to make it a thing"

Carter : "and as for The trip? We're just going up to get ready for first cabin party." Carter said looking to Cheryl for confirmation but all she got was an awkward and telling smile from her friend across the room , Carter still hasn't apologized foe her behavior at tryouts and she wasn't sure whether she gets enough courage to ever apologize..

Cheryl : "I know that's what it normally is but Lily and I were thinking maybe we could turn it into another party." Cheryl offered. This set Carter off. She didn't like change and this was certainly a change.

Carter : "Another party are you serious? That's the week after the C party we won't have any time to concentrate the guest list." Cassie still ignored Jason and he was sitting a few inches away from her she wanted him to hug her to snuggle her up but nothing was happening and that's why she even more mad at him and curled her knees to her chest.

Cheryl : " Yeah , but hear me out, what if we had the C party at the Cabin?

Megan :" Then it wouldn't be a qualifying party it would just be a Cabin party." (CA)

Carter nodded

Lily : "well yes and no. It would still be the C party and everyone invited would not automatically be invited to the real Cabin parties. It was just a suggestion." Lily spoke to Megan though it was more directed to Carter.

Anthony " yeah, well it was a bad one." Anthony agreed with Cheryl and Lily but he would always stand behind his sister.

Carter ran her hands across her face in a frustrated manner. "What I mean is that it's the only time of year the seven of us spend time at the Cabin just the seven of us. Sure we spend some parts of Summer up there alone sometimes but usually it's only two or four of us at a time when that happens. " She explained her tone calm and soft, much different than before. Jason slid from his side of the couch closer to Carter and put his arm around her in a reassuring manner , she stood up and sat on his lap

Cheryl : "fine , fine , it would have been fun and different, but whatever. Let's move onto more pressing things. How was your date last night?" Cheryl asked, smiling at her brother and her friend.

Carter : "it was alright. I was mildly concerned when my friends who said they would be in the parking lot waiting for me where nowhere to be seen. I thought they had been abducted or something." Carter laughed lightly hoping to convince them she wasn't mad at them when she really was.

Lily : "well ,we did plan on waiting for you but when we got out to the car Jason was waiting for you and he seemed so adorable waiting for his girlfriend that we had to let the romantic moment happen." Lily explained giddy at the thought of romance.

Carter : "There was no romantic moment and by the way i'm engaged to this amazing man." Carter stated coldly , she moves to Mason.

Jason feigned shock.

Jason : "I wouldn't say that, sharing a milkshake is pretty romantic. Not to mention I kissed you goodnight at the door and I know that's romantic because I've seen movies."

Carter laughed and moved herself back to the couch and laid her head onto Jason's shoulder. Carter : "You're all acting like it's our first date or something and it's not and it was not even Date , at least not for me "

Jason : "well that's amazing that you felt about it this way"

Berfore her thing with Mason started."Anthony interjected , Carter remember her engagement party with Mason

Lily : "Careful Tony , she kicked a girl out of the locker room and almost off the team for talking about her and mason." Lily laughed, bringing up the scene that had been made in the locker room the night before.

Carter: "Lily was standing right there, there was no need for her to be rude about Me right in front of Me ." Carter began to explain. Not that she needed to. No Allcott , Peterson , Blossom ever had to explain themselves to each other. Not as a group. Everyone just understood that there was a reason someone did something and no matter what it was it just was and that was it.

the night ended

the following day:

Carter sat in the Blossom's car as she waited for Jason. She always liked this car, she remembered the day the twins had gotten it. It was in mint condition and while their parents had promised them any car they wanted they had their hearts set the 1961 Chevy Impala Convertible that had been their father's pride and joy since they were small; and so when their birthday rolled around they found it pulled out of the garage and the once black car was now candy apple red with a big silver bow on the hood. Carter remembered being almost as excited as the twins were and she couldn't wait to go for a ride in it. Now she had ridden in it more times than she can count and it was still her favorite car to be in.

She was torn from her thoughts when the house door slammed and Jason stomped his way over to the car, slamming the driver's side door once he got in. Carter hated it when Jason was mad so she kept her mouth shut as he started the engine and drove off down the road, first to her house to change into her uniform then off to Pop's

when they pulled into the diner's parking lot as soon as they came to a stop Carter moved quickly to get out of the car but Jason grabbed her wrist lightly to keep her back

Jason: "it's not about you having friends." He started.

Carter rolled her eyes. "What is it about then?"

Jason : "It's about who you want to be friends with.
