Zuko POV
When I walked up the stairs a man held the door, "Aunt Wu is expecting you." I rolled my eyes, yea right I bet he tells everyone that, "So sorry to have kept her waiting!" I said with sarcasm. I stepped in and sat down on the cushions and waited.
After about five minutes an old woman came up to me. She looked tired but happy, she held out her hand to introduce herself. "Hello prince Zuko, I am aunt wu. I had a feeling I would be seeing you tonight." I rolled my eyes, and shook her hand, "I'm sure you have, uncle told you right?" She shook her head. "No, he didn't." I didn't believe her.
I sighed and stood to follow her, she lead me down a narrow hallway and into a room with a fire pit in the middle and antiques everywhere my eyes touched. "I see you're a pack rat." I mumbled, and she laughed, "I prefer to call myself a collector of fond memories." She motioned for me to sit down.
I looked at the fire pit, I could feel the flames calling out to me. It felt unnatural, almost eerie, as I stared into the fire I felt my mind start to drift off.
I walked through the woods gathering berries and water for dinner, I had to get back to my uncle fast. He needs me. I quickly finished and started to walk back to camp, I hope he will heal soon Azula did a number on him, I can never trust her, Azula always lies.
As I started getting closer to camp I heard voices, I started to sneak up on them but I stepped on a twig.
Snap snap.
I shook my head fast to clear my head, I looked at the woman, she had snapped her fingers in my face. She looked at me worriedly, "Are you all right dear?" I nodded, still a bit unsure. "Something just felt weird about the fire." I barely recognized my own voice as I trembled a bit. What was that? Why were we camping in the woods? And why was my uncle hurt by my sister?
She nodded and smiled, "It's a very special fire I can understand why it might distract you it's almost as if the fire itself wants to tell your future. It can fill your mind with powerful visions. Nothing to worry about dear, let's get down to business let me see your hands."
What does she mean by that? I held out my hand not wanting to question any further. Sometimes the world is just mysterious, I'd rather leave it at that. She took my hands gently into hers and traced her finger in patterns on my palms. After a few moments, she began to speak.
"Young prince you have suffered a lot in your short lifetime, and your suffering has changed you for the better even though you may not know it yet. There is a great conflict inside your soul, your mind tells you to do things your heart does not want, and your heart tells your body what to do, even when your mind tells you not to. This conflict will take a long time to figure out, but you will figure it out in time."
She took a moment to stoke the fire and then continued, I was too speechless to say anything.
"You are at crossroads in your life choose wisely and the world and yourself will be at peace and happiness will be your life, but make the wrong decision and the world will come crashing down around you and you will be left with nothing but fear sadness and regret.
