As promised Casey had talked to Ash, and they were okay again. Casey and I had come up with a plan to make it up to Ashton. He had a game tonight, where he got to be the quarterback. The coach really liked him, so he got "promoted" to the actual quarterback. He wouldn't shut up about it all week, he was so happy.
So we decided to all (Casey, Christie, Luke and I) go to the game and cheer him on. We had made t-shirts that said A S H !. We had made a huge sign which had the sentence "Ashton makes us go in quarterback arrest", I don't want to brag but I came up with the pun. Lastly, we put face paint in the colours of the team on our faces. It may be a little much, but we really wanted to show Ashton that we were here for him and support him in every way.
I got in quickly when Casey came to pick me up. Christie and Luke were in the car as well, I greeted them quickly and sat next to Casey in the front. "We look so ridiculous" I chuckled facing the backseat. Our faces painted entirely yellow and blue, I could barely recognise us. "Yeah we do, but Ashton's going to be so happy" Christie smiling widely.
Ashton had been very nervous for tonight, so I'm sure that we'll calm his nerves a bit.
We got a few weird stares when we climbed up the bleachers to sit on the back row, we ignored them because we were having fun and that's what matters. We actually wanted to sit in the back because we didn't want to block people's views if we'd be standing the whole game. And if we're in the back we wouldn't have that problem.
We began cheering loudly when the boys came on to the field. "Wooooo! Ashton! Ashton!" I saw him turn his head up in our direction. I waved and pointed at the sign above our heads. I saw him laugh, shaking his head after he'd read it.
He turned his focus back to the field. The referee handed him the ball, and Ashton kicked it as far as he could. "YEAH!!! Good job Ash!" I yelled.
At first people just looked at us strangely, but when Ashton's team scored their first point people were actually joining us. They were cheering almost as loud as we were. We even managed to do a wave in our row. This enthusiasm lasted through the whole game, we really made people hyped up for the game.
The team actually did pretty good as well, I don't know if it was because of our cheering but I'm going to throw it at that. This was my first time watching an American football, sorry Canadian football Ashton gets really offended when I say American, game. I must admit that I really had a lot of fun.
When the game ended, we made our way to the field to greet Ashton. He came running to us and pulled us in a group hug. "Thank you guys, you have no idea how much that meant to me."
Ash was really sweaty, but I don't think that mattered to any of us now. "Ash, I love you but you're really sweaty so I'm going to let you go know" Christie said wiggling herself out of the hug. I guess it did matter to Christie. "Yeah sorry" Ashton let us go as well, wiping his cheek quickly.
I grabbed his hand, "wait Ash, are you crying?" He put his other hands before his eyes, "no I'm not" he choked out, trying to keep in the tears. We took Ashton in a hug this time, "hey it's okay" I said sweetly. "I don't deserve you guys" he smiled sadly. "We love you Ash" Casey said tightening his grip.
I couldn't stop smiling. I was so happy that everyone and everything was okay between us again. I was so happy that I had such good friends that are able to forgive each other and support each other at all times. It honestly made my heart ache, in a good way.
We let Ashton take a shower, and we went to the bathrooms to wash our faces. After we were all fresh again, Casey took us to a little cafe. He told us that it has the best waffles. When I heard the word waffles, I was down immediately and so were the others.
The cafe felt really cozy, it had a homey feeling. Soft jazz music was playing through the speakers, when we sat down at the booth. We ordered the promised waffles and some milkshakes. Casey told me that the vanilla milkshake is really good here, so I ordered that one.
Christie took the disposable camera, she had been taking pictures with all night, out of her bag. She started taking pictures of us. Since I was in a silly mood, I started making funny faces. Everyone joined me, laughter filling the room.
"I can't wait till the photos are developed." I told her laughing. "Me either, I'll make sure to get all of you copies."
I put my head on Casey's shoulder, I had become very tired suddenly. We all had, everyone was sitting slouched down on the seat. We were in that mood when you're so tired you don't exactly know what you're saying, but you find everything funny. From the outside it may looked like we were drunk, we were acting so weird. We also had like three milkshakes, so maybe it was the sugar.
"Turning up the volume is like zooming in, but with sound" Casey said giggling. I furrowed my eyebrows, looking up at him. "What?"
"No, no that actually makes sense. Because if you zoom in you can see better and if you turn up the volume you hear better" Luke said with wide eyes. I looked at Christie, she looked very confused as well. "What are you guys on about?" Ashton said chuckling.
"I think we should go home now, we're going crazy" Christie said sitting up straight again. She called over the waiter so we could pay. Casey drove us all home after.
A few days later, I saw the photos laying in my locker. There was a note on the first photo, "I think you'd like this one. <3 Christie." I picked the photo up, and looked at it. I was looking crossed eyed at the camera, and Casey was laughing at me with a certain kind of fondness in his eyes. A warm feeling entered my stomach, one I couldn't quite place. All I knew was that I indeed really liked the picture.
I picked up all the photos and took them home with me, they turned out amazing. I especially like the one that we were all in, making funny faces at the camera. That was when we asked the waiter to take a picture of us. I hung them up on the wall with the other photos that were there. I had always been a sucker for photos, I like having those kind of memories.

Sorry I didn't update in such a long time, school was killing me. Also I know nothing about American/Canadian football, so this was kinda hard to write. I hope it still makes sense though. This was a bit of a filler chapter, one to make up all the drama. Promise it'll become more fun/ interesting.
