So our class decided that it would be fun to go to an ice skating rink for the day. It was out of the city so it wouldn't be that busy. The school had hired some busses to take us there. Since dad didn't have to work today, he drove me to school.

Honestly, I was a bit nervous. I had never been good at skating. I know that's scandalous because I'm half Dutch and half Canadian, and both of them are supposed to be very good at it. It's not that I don't like it though, it's just that I'm very clumsy and I always end up with bruises all over me. I fall over quite a lot.

Dad drove on to the parking lot, where the busses already stood. I thanked my dad for driving me and gave him a quick hug before he made his way back home. I wasn't sure if Casey or any of my other friends where already there, because I hadn't spoken to any of them today.

I first had to give the by my parents signed note to one of the teachers. Since I saw ms Summers standing in front of one bus, I walked towards here and gave her my piece of paper. "Hi Hailey!" She said smiling brightly at me. "Are you excited for today?" I thought about my answer, because yes I was excited but like I said nervous. "I am, bit nervous because I'm not that good at it though."

"Oh I'm sure you'll be fine. Be sure to hold on to Casey tightly" she winked playfully. "Speaking of which, have you seen him already?" She pushed her glasses further on her nose, "I don't think I have, no." Disappointed I responded, "okay thanks miss!" She chuckled and waved at me when I walked away.

I walked into one of the two busses to see of my friends where there. There were quite a few people already, and when I didn't see any of my friends I started walking to the front of the bus again to see if they were in the other. Suddenly I got pulled back, falling in someone's lap. A shriek came out of me in shock. I looked up and saw Casey smirking at me.

"Hey, I didn't see you there" I said sitting up straight again. "I was hiding, I wanted to surprise ya" he said, having that same smirk still on his face. "Well you sure did surprise me! Stop smirking, you doof" I said patting his mouth with my hand to make it disappear. He grabbed my hand and put it in his own, then he laid his head on my shoulder. "'M tired" he yawned cutely.

Not long after Christie, Ash and Luke joined us. Luke was walking with some girl I didn't know and sat down next to her. "Who's that?" I whispered in Casey's ear. He looked over his shoulder quickly, not wanting to be obviously looking. "I believe her name is Lana. Luke has liked her for awhile but he was never brave enough to talk to her. I guess he finally was, we have to ask him about it later!"

At some point Casey's eyes fully closed. I didn't really like that because I wanted to talk to him. "Casey!" I whispered. He opened one eye, "what?". "I need to tell you something"

He sat up straightly immediately. "Something bad?" He questioned, looking worried. "Oh, no no. It's just that I'm not that good at ice skating, and I haven't done it in awhile. And maybe I'm a tiny tiny bit nervous to do it again." I pinched my fingers together to show how nervous I was. Although it was total lie, because I was very very nervous.

"Aren't Dutch people supposed to be very good at ice skating? They always win medals and stuff at the Olympics." He chuckled. "Yeah, I know. I mean I have tried when I was younger but then I got to scared to do it again. And I couldn't have just stayed home today, because I know that you wouldn't let me and my mum probably wouldn't let me either."

"Alright sweetheart, I'll teach you. No need to be nervous okay?" I blushed at the nickname, and let my head fall on his shoulder. Spending the rest of the bus trip like this.

"You have to pick up some skates at that desk over there, and if you brought your own you can put them on at the benches over there. Either way have fun, and please be save! If you need one of the teachers we'll be somewhere on the ice or sitting in the restaurant over there." As soon as mr Morris was done talking, people rushed out in all directions.
