From an outside perspective, I look relatively normal. No one knows my whole story. No one knows the pain that I've caused. Except for one person. The only person I trust enough to keep my secrets. He's the reason I stopped wearing my sunglasses. I would never have made it without him. However, right now, he is really making me mad.
"You are certifiably insane!" Harley practically screams through my earpiece.
"That's because you drive me crazy," I retort with annoyance clear in my voice, "Now shut up, I'm trying to focus."
I run as fast as far as my legs will take me. I can hear the footsteps of someone following me behind me. I dart between the people with colorful auras on the street, trying to lose the person following me. Eventually, I can't move any faster because I get stuck in a huge crowd. I push through and duck into an alleyway.
"You realize that we are breaking so many laws," He mumbles.
"Literally everything about me is illegal," I tell him, climbing up the nearest fire escape of a brick building. "You should probably get used to it."
As I pull myself up to the top of the building, I notice a drone watching me. Dang it.
I shake my head disapprovingly at the drone, "Really Harles? Drones?"
"You can be predictable."
I run off the building and drop to the nearest one. I haven't had a chase like this in ages, it's almost enjoyable.
"Shut up."
There's a large gap to the next building so I run even faster, I leap off easily making it to the next roof, only needing a minute to balance myself.
"Hey!" I hear on the roof I just left causing me to run even faster.
If I can just make it to the next building, I'll be safe. Just as my foot leaves the edge of the building I'm pulled back by a sticky substance hitting my back.
My back hits the ground hard. I rip the web off and stand to face Spider-Man in his crappy suit and a dark blue glow surrounding him. I send a strong blow to his stomach making him fall to the ground.
"Come on, Spidey," I tease. "You really couldn't find anything better to wear?"
"This is the best I can do," He admits, standing back up.
He throws a punch that I easily dodge then he webs my feet up. "Oh, you seem stuck."
"I hate you, Porker," I comment, flipping him off.
He taps my shoulder, "Tag, you're it."
"I thought we said no powers," I complain.
Harley's voice rings through my earpiece, "You are predictably unpredictable and we actually have homework to do."
"I can't believe it took you guys 2 hours to find me," I laugh while using my emergency stash of web dissolvent to free myself.
"We had to search the entire city!" Harley points out.
"I made it easy for you," I retort.
Peter looks at me in disbelief, "No, you didn't. You really didn't. How did you even get on top of the Empire State Building?"
"Spoilers," I comment with a mischievous smile. "Wanna go again?"
"I can't, Aunt May wants me home early," He tells me.
I roll my eyes as he swings off, "Bro, really? Well, in that case, Harley, wanna check something out with me?"
"Is it illegal?"
