Going through the void has allowed me to be visible for a couple more hours, longer than ever. Ella gets a call from the general of the army and tells me and Ella to come over to the barracks of the army base.
Ella drives me and Jack to the army base. And when we arrive the general is waiting for me. He calls me a hero. I explain to him that I'm just a ghost and I've learnt how to become visible. It doesn't last for long I tell him.
The general believes me and we go into the barracks and they throw a ceremony for me and Jack
All the soldiers are lined up clapping at my bravery, me, Ella and Jack walk down aisle to the podium and the general pulls out some medals of bravery and courage laid a purple pillow, he takes them off the pillow and pins them onto Ella's shirt, there is one medal for me, one medal for Jack and one medal for herself, Ella represents all three of us because the general can't see us and without Ella i wouldn't have solved this case.
The general tells the soldiers in the audience We are given these medals for saving Chicago, the soldiers stand up and clap in happiness and salute at what heroes we are.
I turn to Jack at my side, he looks at me and smiles and I ask him what he thinks of me now? and he tells me he never meant that i was a lousy cop, he said that in anger and he also told me that i have done him proud and pats my shoulder in joy, he finally sees me as a brother, i tell him all is forgiven and we can live in harmony together like we once were.

The general bids me and Ella congratulations on solving the case and bids us farewell.
Ella turns to look at me in the eyes and she tells me she senses other ghosts in the Baracks with them, they seem to be all waiting for me to join them, i tell Ella she will make a good detective when she is grown up abit more i feel like she could really be a great help to the force, she says she'll think about it and says that we worked great as a team and she tells me i was a great friend and she will miss working together with me.
I turn around and see the ghost boy i saw before standing at the door, he gestures his fingers as if he wants me to come and follow him i think this is a sign now that the case is closed and the job is done it's time for me to ascend into the heavens above.
