~A couple days later~
Everything was going great. My job was amazing, as usual, and my friends were amazing, too. Colby and I's relationship was back to normal. Nothing was awkward and we didn't have any unsolved problems. Today was a Monday so I had gotten in my car and I drove to the house. When I got there everything was quiet. It was pretty early in the morning so I didn't expect anyone to be up. I quietly set my stuff down and started to clean. While I was cleaning I had heard footsteps coming down the stairs.
"Good morning-" I turned around to see who it was. It was a girl that I didn't recognize.
"Um I'm sorry who are you?" I asked.
"I was about to ask you the same question! Why are you here?" The girl asked in a sort of panic. I looked down at cleaner in my right hand and the rag in my left then looked back up to her.
"Why are you cleaning my house?" She asked. I was confused.
"Well I had thought it would be fun to walk into random houses and to clean them. Why do you think I'm cleaning? I'm the house keeper to the actual owners of this house." I said.
"What? Colby never told me he had a maid. That makes him a lot hotter now." The girl said twirling her hair. I swear I puked a little in my mouth.
"I prefer house keeper. Maid means that I do anything for them. I just clean." I said.
"Okay, whatever." She said. I turned around and mocked her. After I was finished I turned back around to face her.
"So are you like Colby's new fling?" I asked crossing my arms. She gave me a stank eye.
"No. We have been hanging out for awhile now." She tried to brag.
"Yeah, been there done that sweetheart." I mumbled.
"What was that?" She asked.
"Oh nothing. So you guys have been seeing each other for like a month or two now?" I asked.
"No. A little shorter." She said.
"Oh how long then?" I asked.
"About a week or so." She mumbled loud enough for me to hear. I had to hold back my laugh. She thought a week was 'a long time'.
"What?" She said giving me a death stare.
"Nothing." I said. Just then Colby walked down the stairs.
"Good morning Colby." Me and this girl said at the same time. We looked at each other. I really did not like her.
"Good morning. I see you met Nancy." Colby said to the girl walking up and kissing her head. When he did that I felt this tinge in my stomach. He then walked up and messed up my hair. I chuckled and did the same to him. He chuckled too. We then did our lengthy handshake that we had made before I went to Ireland. We both hadn't forgot it. After we were done he went to get a cup to get some water. The girl looked at me and had death in her eyes. I'm pretty sure I did too. I went to the sink to wash dishes and Colby was right beside me.
"So whats up with little miss whatever her name is over there?" I asked. Colby looked at me.
"Her name is Scarlett and we are dating." Colby said.
"After a week?" I said laughing a little. Colby side eyed me.
"What? Don't you think that was a little fast?" I asked.
"It was about the same for us when we went on our first date." He said a little bit upset.
"Yeah and look what happened to us." I said turning the water off looking at him. He scoffed and started to walk away. I grabbed his arm and pulled him back.
