'The Meeting'- Chapter 3

Laura's POV*

"Sure" I reply.  "Can you please allow us to get changed first?" Ness asks politely. "Of course! When you are ready we live right across the street. Oh and can you please join us for dinner?" She asks "oh thank you for the invitation. We'd be delighted to come" my sister replies. "Okay. We will be over shortly. Bye" my sister says closing the door. I vamp speed upstairs and grab one of my bags dumping it on my new bed. I use my vamp speed and put all my clothes away in my closet. "What should I wear?" I think to my self. " You should wear something nice" my sister says "stay out of my head Ness!" I reply shouting. "It's not my fault." She says cheekily. As vampires we have special abilities. One of them is reading minds, anyone's mind. It's rather interesting, but Ness doesn’t like to read human mind’s, which means she can freely read my mind -_-.

I walk inside my closet in search of something casual yet nice. Eh, I really have no one to impress. I grab a pair of black skinny jeans, regular converses, a flow-y white tank top, and a black beanie. I walk outside my room and spot my sister wearing a black tank top, dark blue cardigan, skinny jeans, and black heels. "Well you look nice,” I say. "You too." She replies. I walk into my bathroom and take my beanie off in order to curl my hair. About 10 minutes pass and I finish and re apply my beanie on my head. I put on mascara and lip-gloss and head out my bathroom. "Ready!" I say. "Same here let's go" my sister says vamp speeding out of her room and straight to the front door. "Coming" I say vamp speeding till I'm next to her. I unlock the door and walk out. The sun is setting and it looks beautiful. We walk across the street and approach gates. I ring the gate bells and it opens. Vanessa and I head up to the door and knock. "Hello girls welcome to the Lynch residence. My name is Alec." He introduces while answering the door. We walk inside, " Hi my name is Vanessa and this is my sister Laura,” my sister says as she shakes his hand. "Pleasure. The family is in the main dining hall. If you would kindly follow me,” he says while closing the door and walking away.

We follow and he leads us into a very big room. I'm guessing the living room. I think our house is bigger though. We walk into another room and I see a long table. "Hello girls!" Stormie says as she walks to us, pulling us into a hug. "Hello" my sister and I say in unison. "You girls can pick an empty seat," she says as she goes back to her seat. "Oh how rude of my family. Guys introduce your selves,” she informs giving her family scolding looks. "Hi girls! Hopefully we can be b-f-f’s! My name is Rydel. And I'm the second oldest of my siblings." She says. "Hi my name is Riker and I'm the oldest." He informs, "I'm the youngest. My name is Ryland" he says, "hi I'm the third oldest my name is Rocky" he introduces while shaking our hands. "Hey I'm the fourth oldest. My name is Ross,” he says looking directly at me. He has beautiful eyes that I could get lost in. I snap out of my thoughts and introduce my self and my sister. "Hey guys nice to meet you all. My name is Laura and my sister’s name is Vanessa. We are the Maranos." I inform. Then a middle-aged man walks in, "Hello my name is Mark I'm Stormie's husband." He says shaking our hands. "Hi. Laura and Vanessa Marano." We introduce. "So Laura and Vanessa where are your parents?" Mark asks while taking his seat. "Oh umm... They passed away. " I reply. Stormie then stands up and gives us hugs. "Aw girls I'm so sorry." "It's fine," my sister says. Stormie pulls away and goes back to her seat "girls please sit down." She says gesturing to seats.

I sit next to Riker. Being directly across from Ross and Ness sits next to Rydel being directly across from Rocky. Their butlers bring in our food and we start to eat. Chatting here and there. "I'm stuffed" Ross says as he glances at me. I spot Vanessa and Riker sharing a few glances and Rocky glances at Vanessa. I decide to read his mind. Rocky’s thoughts are all about Vanessa. He really likes her. I look down at my food and take another bite. I then decide to read Riker’s thoughts. Oh my gosh! They both like Vanessa. Ness doesn't read minds because she thinks it's rude. So I'm not going to tell her. I decide to read Ross' mind. I immediately start to blush while I look at my food. He is thinking of me. Good thing he can't read minds or anything because I'm thinking of him too. He is so cute. "Well thank you for this evening but I have to get ready for school tomorrow." I say standing up "Thank you for joining us" Stormie says standing up and hugging me. "Thank you" Ness says while standing up. "No problem" Stormie says once again hugging us.

Then Alec escorts Vanessa and I to the front gate. We exit their home and head across the street to ours. “Hey Ness?” I say “Yea?” She replies. “Can we please go hunting? This time for animals since we haven’t hunted in a while since our last outing.” I ask very hopeful. Food is to stop the craving but it doesn’t mean we don’t desire for blood. “Fine lets go.” Ness says. I vamp speed to the nearest forest with Ness following closely behind. I am faster and stronger than her. I head to the forest and climb a tree standing on the highest branch. I scan the perimeter and spot Vanessa in another tree. I spot a deer drinking from a small pond. I glance at Vanessa and I see she is looking at the deer, my deer. “It’s mine Ness. I spotted it first.” I say in my thoughts knowing she can hear me from her own mind. “Fine” She replies in her head scanning the area once again searching for another animal. I jump down the very tall tree and get close to the deer, still drinking from the small pond. I head closer to the deer and swiftly ambush it. The deer had no idea that I was near, nor did he hear me. My fangs come out and I sink them into the deer. I drink the deer dry and leave it for another animal to enjoy with the remainders. I search for Ness and find her drinking another deer that was unfortunate to cross her path. She finished consuming the blood and leaves the once living deer in the forest for other animals to consume. “Ready?” I ask as she wipes her mouth. “Ready.” She replies.

We vamp speed out of the forest and head towards our gates. We open the gates and head towards the door. As soon as we enter I vamp speed up the stairs and into my bathroom. I take a long hot shower pondering about the boy named Ross. He continues to invade my thoughts, thinking about his appearance. I get out of my shower and put on a pair of shorts and a tank top. School begins for me tomorrow. How wonderful. “Lover girl, stop being such a baby and suck it up!” Ness shouts from her bathroom. “Get out of my head Ness!!” I reply shouting. “Fine!” She says laughing. I must get ready in the morning for school. I have gone to high school numerous of times. I pass every class and my best subject is history, because I was mostly there. I saw some of the famous battles and personally witnessed them, the horrible experience of watching innocent men dying from weapons… or my sister and I. We would sometimes feed on the men we knew wouldn’t make it, unfortunate for the men but refreshing for us. Now, slowly drifting off into sleep. School begins tomorrow, and I will be known.
