‘What?!’ - Chapter 5

Laura’s POV*

            I walk inside the house and see Vanessa on her phone laughing. “I love you too,” her mind says. “WHAT?!” I say vamp speeding towards her leaving the door completely open with my shoes in the opening. I snatch her phone out of her hands and look at it. Before I could even lay my eyes on the screen Vanessa slaps the phone out of my hand and I look at her with a ‘what the heck’ facial expression.  I vamp speed towards her phone and pick it up once more. I open it up and read the banner on her text messaging app. “RIKER!!!!” I exclaim. “Yea him and I are sort of dating.” She says nervously. “IT’S BEEN EXACTLY ONE DAY SINCE WE FIRST MET THEM!! ONE FREAKING DAY AND YOUR ALREADY DATING ONE OF THEM?! THEY AREN’T LIKE US VANESSA!!!” I exclaim throwing her phone making the screen shatter into a million pieces of glass. “WHAT? ITS NOT LIKE YOU CAN TELL ME WHETHER OR NOT TO DATE ONE OF THEM!” She shot back. Once she said that I snapped and lunged straight at her. We were fighting in the living room and our vamp speed got the best of us because we were brawling all over the place. One second we are hitting each other on the couch and the next second we are on top of the kitchen island slapping each other, and that’s when I sense it. I grab Vanessa’s throat with my hand and look at her. She reaches for my throat and squeezes. I grab her hand that’s on my throat crushing it while she yelps from the pain. I let go of her throat and walk back to the living room leaving a shocked Vanessa sprawled out on the kitchen island. I reach the front door and spot a blonde headed boy running back to his house across the street. “Dammit…” I mumble closing the front door. I walk back over to Vanessa who is sitting on the kitchen island re-positioning the bones in her hands. “Sorry. I was just really pissed off but we have bigger things to worry about right now.” I say helping her off the kitchen island. “Its okay. I would be pissed too if I found out you were dating a human.” She says looking up at me. I hug her and she hugs back. Amazing how people can forgive and forget so quickly. “So what do we have to worry about?” She questions. “Well I saw a blonde boy running back to their house.” I say “So?” She replies. “Well let’s say the boy was watching us and ran home to his house across the street.” I say. “Oh my god. That means it was one of the Lynch boys. And he just saw what we did.” She says looking frightened. “I know. We have to go over there right now.” I say vamp speeding towards the door. “C’mon!” I exclaim while she vamp speeds right next to me. I open the door and walk out with Vanessa behind me shutting the door. We reach the gates and exit walking across the street to the Lynch’s house. Oh god, what awaits us here? We go through the front gates and approach the door. I knock and wait for some one to answer, eventually Alec answers and lets us inside. I spot Rydel glance at us and then run downstairs reaching us and pulling us into an embrace. “Yay” She exclaims Vanessa and I giggle “Hey Delly” I say. “Hey Rydel” Vanessa says. “I heard you’re dating my brother Riker!!” She exclaims to Vanessa jumping up and down. “I know.” Vanessa states. Then Riker comes downstairs and goes up to Vanessa. “Hey Vanessa and Laura” Riker says formally. I giggle. “Its okay Riker I know your dating my sister. But if you hurt her you will feel pain.” I state getting all up in his face. “Okay. But you’re so little. I don’t think you can hurt me that bad.” Riker says rolling his eyes playfully. “I wouldn’t say that Riker.” Vanessa states looking at him, “Oh. Ha-ha okay then, don’t worry I wont brake her heart. She is very special to me.” He replies looking at Vanessa sweetly. “Aww” Rydel and I say in unison. Then it dawns on me. “Hey Vanessa” I say through my mind knowing she can hear me through hers. “Yea?” Her mind responds. “I just realized there are only two blondes guys here.” I “say” “Yea so?” she responds. -_- “Are you dumb? That means that Ross was the one who saw us fighting because Riker seems pretty cool right now. Hold on let me read his mind.” I “say” “Hey! I’m not dumb. And you know how I feel about reading minds.” She responds. I then read Riker’s mind while he takes Vanessa to the kitchen. “How did I get so lucky?” His mind says. “Awww!” I think “No Ness its definitely Ross I can tell. Be right back” “Okay.” She responds. “Hey Dell, Where’s Ross?” I question. “He’s upstairs in his room. First door to your right.” She responds, “Thanks“ I reply. I walk upstairs and head straight for his door. I softly knock on the door and Ross opens it. As soon as he spots me his eyes widen. Then he scratches the back of his neck. “Ohh Um... Hey Laura!” He says walking inside of his room with me trailing behind. I read his mind. “What is she?” “So what’s up?” I ask. “Umm… Nothing much. “ He responds unsure. I walk to the door and close it shut. “W-what are you doing?” Ross questions fear clearly in his voice. “I’m gonna tell you the truth. Just promise me you won’t run.” I reply looking deep into his eyes. He nods and I let out a sigh. “Okay. I know you were at our house and you saw Vanessa and I fighting. And we were really fast right?” I ask. He nods, “Well you may or may not believe me but Vanessa and I are vampires.”

Ross then looks directly at me and asks. “How?” “It happened a while ago. Why are you so calm?” I ask. “Because despite of what you are. I’m not afraid.” He says looking at me. “Why?” I ask confused. He sighs and takes a deep breath. “Because I want to be like you.” He replies leaving me looking at him in shock.

             Ooh! Cliffy!! What do you think Laura is going to say about Ross wanting to become a Vampire? Wow Ross was quick to want to become one. Lol, well… You will find out in the next chapter what happens! Please comment below! Thanks! Bye Butterflies!! *\(^-^)
