‘The First Day’- Chapter 4

Laura’s POV*

I wake up to the alarm on my phone ringing numerous of times. I hit the snooze and get out of my comfortable bed and head for my bathroom. I brush my teeth and take a shower. Once I finish I head to my closet and chose my clothing. A teal strapless floral top, black leather jeggings, lace up heels, a gold necklace with triangles, black and gold ring, a bracelet with a heart, and a leather jacket. I go to my bathroom and put on mascara, eos lip balm, and pink lip-gloss. I then decide to leave my hair natural and grab two strands from each side and pin it back with a black bow. I grab my phone that had a black case on it that says ‘Life Goes On’ and vamp speed down the stairs to the kitchen where I find Ness making pancakes. “Hey sis good morning.” Vanessa says as she places a pancake on a separate plate. “Good morning” I say grabbing the plate and heading to kitchen table. I quickly eat my pancake and place the plate in the sink. “Are you gonna at least take a book bag or supplies?” Ness questions. “Nope. Only thing I need is my phone and car keys.” I state walking out the door. I hear her laugh as I near my car. I get inside and drive to Jackson High School.

I finally arrive after 5 aching minutes of traffic while driving to school. It is a very big school that I am not registered to. Yet. I walk inside while the guys and girls stare at me. As soon as I enter the office I find a woman and compel her to register me without certain documents. She hands me a schedule and books, I scan the schedule observing that my first class is mathematics with Mr. Clark. I exit the office and head towards my locker. I put my keys inside and the books the office lady gave me. I decided to not bring anything to class except for my phone. I pretty much already know everything and I clearly do not need to be in high school because my knowledge is way higher than everyone else’s. I shut my locker and head to class while I am on my phone. I spot Mr. Clark’s room at the end of a hallway. I can also see Mr. Clark confiscating phones at the doorway. “Hello Ms. Marano. Welcome to my class and please give me your phone.” I look around to make sure no one is looking at me and compel Mr. Clark to allow me to be on my phone the entire class and he cannot confiscate it. He moves out of my way and I head to a seat in the back of the classroom and kick my feet up letting them rest on the top of the desk. People stare at me and then two familiar blondes’ catch my eye. “Hey Laura” they said in synchronization. “Hey Ross and Rydel.” I reply. “So what classes do you have next?” Rydel asks. I put my feet under my desk and stand up reaching into my back pocket to grab my schedule. I once again sit back down and kick my feet back on top of my desk. I hand Rydel my schedule as she takes a seat next to me on my left and Ross its on my right. “Ahh! Us three have all the same classes!” Rydel exclaims. “Cool!” I reply. Someone’s thoughts then invade my mind. “Yes! Maybe I’ll work up the courage to ask her out!” I noticed it was Ross’ thoughts. I blushed while Rydel and Ross got their supplies out. “Hey where’s your stuff?” Ross asks. “Oh I don’t think I’ll need anything. I’ll actually be on my phone most of the time.” I reply. “Wait, Why didn’t-“ Mr. Clark walking in interrupted Ross’ words. “Alright class time to go over a lesson… Ms. Marano get your feet off of the desk.” He said looking at me while the rest of the class also faced me. I looked into his eyes and compelled him “Well I’m gonna keep my feet on my desk sir. Thanks” I replied. Other students snickered and others gasped. “Fine” He responded going back to his lesson. The room filled with puzzled students. Some gasping and others looking at me with confused faces. I just ignored it and went on my phone avoiding the lesson being taught. “Okay. Soon hopefully in the future you will put all this math knowledge to the test and be able to solve very complicated problems such as ax*x+bx+c=0 Then what is X?” He asked writing the problem on the board. A girl’s hand shot up into the air and I was intrigued to listen to the answer she was going to give. “Well is it a simple answer?” She asks. “No Sue. Its more complex.” He states. “Umm….” Sue says as she tries to figure out the answer. “UGHHH!!!!” I say out loud so everyone can hear me. Then turn their heads to face me. “Yes Ms. Marano?” Mr. Clark states. I see Sue turn her head with a smirk and read her mind. “Yea right. Because she is gonna answer this problem” She thinks rolling her eyes. I put my feet under my desk and stand up walking towards the white board where Mr. Clark has the problem written. He looks at me confused as I grab the blue dry erase board marker and start to write down the answer. I write [-b±√(b2-4ac)] /2a (A/N The 2 next to the B is an exponent and I forget if the answer is correct.)I place the cap back on the marker and walk back to my seat kicking my feet up once again. I look at Mr. Clark and see the amazing look on his face. Even the girl, Sue, was amazed. “Brilliant!” Mr. Clark exclaims as he examines the answer. *Bring*
