Chapter five: Another job

It's the next morning, usually I'd wake up peacefully, this morning let's just say I didn't. This is how it went: I wake up on a table in the middle of the pool, I instantly freak out and fall in. As I got out of water giggles emitted from behind me. I look over to see Nagito and Kokichi laughing their asses off. I looked at them and ran after them. They screamed like little girls and ran off. I raked my fingers through my (h/c) wet hair and thought about what happened yesterday.

"You're a Detective Informant." Mahiru said bewildered. "A Detective Informant? What's that?" I ask confused. "A Detective Informant is a person who gathers information and solves things altogether and can do whatever's necessary to get that information, as in they don't have to follow my rules, but if you do anything stupid I will stop you." Ms. Kirigiri spoke. "That can actually be really useful." I mutter.

"TIME TO PARTY!!!!!!!!" Nagito yelled as he stood on the table holding strawberry soda. The music started and everyone was dancing along to it.

"Earth to (y/n) are you there?" A voice asked. I look over to see Ms. Kirigiri right in front of me. "Oh sorry Ms. Kirigiri I just spaced out. What did you need?" I say as I smile. "Well since we now know your role, you need to start your research as soon as possible, but first you need to get a job." Ms. Kirigiri spoke.

"J-Job?" I ask. "Don't I already have one?" "You do, But this is how you can gain easier access to information like mahiru's occupation." She said bluntly. "And that is?" I ask. "She's a photographer for a newspaper business." She replied. "So we'll be working together?" I ask. "Well she did volunteer to be your partner after all, well when it comes to public working. Go get ready for your job interview, I booked it from an hour from now." And with that Ms. Kirigiri walked off. "A-An hour?!" I ask surprised.

"Yep! Change into these then Chihiro and I will do your make up!" Sonia chimes as she puts some clothes into my arms. "Also you might want to shower and put your current clothes into the agency's laundry basket, Mikan will take care of those." Chihiro said and they walked off. I took the clothes they gave me and headed to the locker room to shower.

After I was done with my shower I go to the bench to see the clothes I was going to wear were gone. "First, the girl's toiletries are empty and now this?" I say as I give out a frustrated sigh. "This was probably Nagito and Kokichi's doing knowing that stunt they pulled this morning." I mutter as I sit on the bench.

"Well I wasn't involved in this mishap this time, it was all Kokichi." A voice said from the other side of the door. "Nagito?" I ask. "Yep! That's me, may I come in? Or are you naked, because I have your clothes." He spoke. "I have a towel on, its alright." I say as I sit on the bench. Nagito then walks in holding the clothes I was given earlier. I give him a quick thank you and went behind the lockers and started changing.

"So the story seems like you quit your job and was almost killed by a despairant, is that true?" Nagito asked. "Yeah, if Mahiru wasn't there I probably would've been dead." I reply as I button up my blouse. "Do you remember what they look like?" He asks. "Long black hair, red eyes, and was wearing a mask. Sound familiar?" I ask peeking over the lockers. "Sounds a lot like Maki Harukawa, no doubt about it." He says as he gives me a smile. "I might need more information from you when the time comes." I say continuing to change. "Of course I have no choice otherwise." He chuckles.

"What do you mean?" I ask looking over the lockers at Nagito, while raising my eyebrow at him. "Oh you haven't read the guidebook haven't you?" He chuckles. "Guidebook?" I ask. "I see you haven't, I should be off. I'll see you later (y/n)." "Nagito! No! Wait!" Before I could finish the door closed. I groaned and hit my head against the locker. I decided to not get distracted and finish getting ready. I went up to the mirror to see what I looked like.
