The sun arose, and birds were chirping.
A bit of sunlight snuck in through the gap of your curtains, hitting your balled up figure as you laid in bed, wishing to be able to sleep in for the day. But you're an adult, meaning that no, there's no time for you to sleep and it's time to make your morning coffee.
The right side of the bed was empty, no longer containing another body. The bed was all yours now, and no one else's. The house was silent except for the small sounds of your pet bunny who sat at the other side of your bedroom.
Your bunny was still sleeping, like always, and seemed to be shivering. That's when you got up, and upon feeling your covers drop, you were hit with what felt like ice. It was cold today, and let's just say that you're terrible with cold weather, no wonder Captain Nutmeg was cold.
Grabbing one of the small blankets you used, you wrapped it around yourself as if you were a burrito and quickly shuffled to Captain's small home.
The little ball of fluff shivered, and you quickly draped over a small little blanket for the bunny, and went to the thermostat to help heat up the house.
With that all set and done, you waddle on over to your kitchen to prepare your coffee, and as it prepared you headed off to the bathroom to wash your face. Once you face was washed and you looked absolutely fabulous that Beyonce could never compare to such beauty, because you created beauty.
It's been this same old routine these past few days, and honestly it's relieving. Not having to worry much about waking up early in the morning since you work night shifts, and had a lot of time to yourself. It felt nice to feel such freedom once again.
The sound of your phone ringing echoed from your bedroom, instantly knowing it was Max who was calling due to the two of scheduling to go wedding shopping together since her wedding date was approaching faster than expected. And also because she's your best friend, therefore it's your duty to hang out with her.
"Why bonjour my fellow scallywag."
"Wow! You woke up in a good mood for once!" You teased.
"Haha, you're not funny (Y/n)." Max hissed with sarcasm.
"I'm going to have to retract that statement about you being a good mood, because clearly you're not." You evilly chuckled, enjoying the teasing.
"Oh shut up." Max gritted, you could already imagine how much her eyebrows were dancing, a habit of hers. "Anyways be ready in by the next hour, and if you're not, no leftovers from the wedding." She threatened.
"Hey, hey, hey! There's a line and you just crossed it with that statement." You panicked a little bit inside since everyone who has ever met Max, knows that she always keeps her word.
"Then you better hurry your ass up, once I finish this file, I'm pulling up to your house and dragging you out even if you're in your underwear still." And with that she hung up with a sassy remark as always.
And with that you sprinted to your closet, rummaging through piles of clothing to see what satisfied you, yet would be quick to dress into. And after testing many articles of clothing, you settled with an all black outfit.
A thin black cradigan, and black v-neck, along with some black jeans that were paired with your favorite black Doc Martens. As you looked at yourself in the mirror, you realized how much your style had changed throughout the years. For the better or for the worse? Who knows?
Walking around the house, taking the few final sips of your coffee, you heard a honk coming from your lawn. And quickly looking at the time you instantly knew that it was Max outside.
Rushing out the door, and giving your hair a little swoop, you entered the white car effortlessly and sat down with a sigh. "You're a little early."
"Well, we need to get to the shop before all the nice dresses get sold." Max replied as she fixed his mirror again. "I want to look great at my wedding, and the dress that I saw online was really popular, but I need to try it on before I buy it." She began to drive.
"Has Sewoon bought his tux yet? Or is he still not back from his brother's house?" You asked her, taking a look at the outside, getting hit with deja vu.
"Actually- no, he hasn't!" Max gasped in realization. "He isn't coming back from his brother's until Thursday, and he need to get his fitted-" Her speech began racing the more she spoke.
"Max, relax." You interrupted, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Also, don't worry so much about finding the perfect dress today, my sister can just make it for you. You know that." You crossed your arms, and looked at Max who seemed to be panicking.
"You're right.." She steadied her breath, "I just want this to be perfect. I want this to be something memorable.."
"And it will be, it's your wedding for pete's sake." You began trying to cheer her up. "Also, when you guys pop out Sewoon Jr or Maxine Jr, I'm going to be one of the godparents right?"
"Of course you will, (Y/n)." She smiled.
"So, how's the belly doing?"
"I felt it kick last night, and Sewoon started singing to the baby last night." She squealed, an enormous smile began showing up on her face.
You smiled sweetly as she spoke. It was endearing as she spoke about her soon to be family, and you hoped that in the future you could say the same. Though it wasn't noticeable, you managed to see how much Max and you had grown.
It felt like it was just yesterday when you were always tailing behind her in your school halls sipping on apple juice. And how weird it'd be to see her in the pigtails she used to always wear.
But you liked how you were now, and you wouldn't change a single thing. A beautiful man waiting for his chance with you, a niece of nephew on the way, your best friend's getting married. Your life was beautiful and you were enjoying it.
Even better that Yoongi isn't here.
You've been moving on since you caught him. Blocking him on all of your SNS accounts, and forgetting about him and all those memories together, and fortunately you were moving on more quickly than you expected.
Max quickly went running to the racks of dresses, rummaging and rummaging trying to find her ideal dress.
"Are you guys alright? Would you like some help?" An employee approached you two, coming from the aisle beside yours.
"Actually yeah." Max left the rack and approached her with her phone screen. "I was wondering if you guys have this dress or it's only available online."
The young woman scanned the screen, and you couldn't help but feel as if you knew her from somewhere, but where? Those blue eyes of hers seemed all too familiar but you couldn't put your finger on it. When she finally looked up to answer Max's question it hit you harder than a million bricks.
Your ex, Changlei.
