The neighborhood is quiet. Suddenly, a fast clicking can be heard on the sidewalk. It's the sound of a woman's heels hitting the pavement. The woman is terrified and running; her breathing labored. Behind her, is a man dressed in all black. He's hiding every aspect of his appearance so as not to be recognized.
The woman is in a neighborhood that is unfamiliar to her. It is also absolutely deserted. No one can hear her panicked running; there isn't a soul around to assist her. She, mistakenly, turns down a dark alley and comes to a dead end. Quickly, she turns around to try and escape, but it's too late for her. The man is already at the entrance of the alleyway. He begins walking toward her very slowly. Terrified, the woman backs against the brick wall behind her and slides down as she begins to sob.
"Please... Please don't hurt me..." The woman begs as she continues to cry. "I'll do anything youwant..." The man is now in front of her. He leans down; pocketknife in hand. As she continues to cry, he places a finger over her mouth.
"Shhhhhhh" Confused, the woman tries to calm herself down and quiets her crying just a bit. "It's completely up to you whether I hurt you or not." The man's voice didn't sound normal. Instead, it seemed like he was using a device to disguise it. The voice that was being emitted was that of a higher pitch and it sounded electronic. "Just do as I say and you'll live. Understand?"
Still crying a bit, the woman nodded."Okay..."
"Now, turn around and put your hands behind your back." The man pulled out a bundle of rope from his pocket. Still sobbing, the woman obeyed.
"Please don't hurt me..." The man ignored her as he tied her hands behind her back. He then forced her to kneel. Pulling her by her hair, he forced her head back and brought the knife around to the front of her neck. The woman began to cry louder.
The man placed his hand over her mouth tightly. "Shut up. You're making too much noise." The woman shook her head vehemently in protest of what the man was doing." Remember what I said. Do you really want me to hurt you?" She tried to quiet down, but she wasn't able to really accomplish the task. "I could slit your throat right here and now. It'd be easy to hide your body where no one would find it. Do you want that?"
With muffled cries and labored breathing, the woman protested; still crying. "Good girl." The man said tauntingly. "This will all be over soon."
The next morning, Jin and Yoongi are the last ones to leave the house as usual. Jin was on his way to work and Yoongi was just tagging along for company. "So, how's that new song turning out?" Jin asked Yoongi.
"It's alright so far. Nowhere near where I want it to be, though." Yoongi replied, sleepily. "It's going to take a while longer to get it absolutely perfect."
"Ah. I see." Jin answered back."Well, I know that it'll be amazing. You're a talented guy." As the two begin to approach Jin's workplace, Yoongi spots a woman that he recognizes as Jin's coworker.
"Hey," Yoongi nudges Jin, "Don't you work with her?" Jin looks ahead and sees that Yoongi is right.
"Yeah, that's Sarah."
"She looks scared."
"You're right. I'll go and see what's wrong. Catch you later, okay?" Yoongi nods and continues along the path, going his own way. Jin walks up to Sarah, who is frantically looking around. He places his hand on her shoulder, accidentally startling her. Sarah lets out a small yelp before turning around to see that it's only Jin. "Are you okay?"
Trying to hold back tears, Sarah shakes her head, signaling that she is not okay. Jin gently takes Sarah's arm and leads her over to a nearby bench where they can sit. "Can you tell me what happened?" Jin said in a very caring tone.
"I was attacked last night..."Sarah took out a tissue and wiped her tears.
"What?" Jin couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Where? What happened?"
"It wasn't far from here. I got turned around on the way home when a guy started following me. He cornered me and attacked me."
"Did he hurt you?" Sarah shakes her head. "Come on. We have to go to the police. There's a station not far from here." Jin got up and tried to pull Sarah along with him, but she refused to get up. "What's wrong? Why won't you come?"
"He said that he would be watching me... and if I went to the police, then he'd find me again and kill me." Jin sat back down next to Sarah. He thought for a moment. He grabs his coworker by the shoulders.
"Come on. I'll walk you home everyday if you want me to, but you need to tell the police." Sarah gave no response. "We have to tell the police so that he won't do this to anyone else." Still reluctant, Sarah refuses to get up. "Please, Sarah. He could do a lot worse... He could actually hurt you next time."
Realizing that Jin was right, Sarah finally gets up and goes with Jin to the police station to report what had been done to her.
When Jin gets home that night, the rest of the guys are already home and waiting for him to make them dinner. Jungkook and Jimin are in their room, studying. Yoongi is listening to music with Hoseok. Namjoon is reading and Taehyung is busy sketching.
Taehyung looks up from his sketchbook to welcome Jin. "Welcome home, hyung. How was your day?" Jin doesn't respond right away. "Hyung? Are you okay?"
Hoseok and Yoongi stop listening to music, also curious about why Jin seems to be acting weird. Hoseok calls out to Jin. "Hyung?"
"My coworker was attacked last night." Jin says, finally.
"You mean Sarah? The girl from earlier today?" Yoongi asks. Jin nods.
"What happened to her?" Namjoon asks, suddenly. Hearing the commotion, both Jungkook and Jimin come out into the living room to join the rest of their friends.
"Some guy chased her down a dark alley, tied her up, and teased her with death threats." All of the guys are silent and in shock. "So, I'll be walking her home everyday until she feels safe going home on her own." Jin walks into the kitchen and begins to prepare dinner.
All of the other roommates gather together near Taehyung's room to talk amongst themselves. "I can't believe that happened to Sarah," Namjoon says in a hushed tone. "It seems to really have shaken him up quite a bit."
"Yeah," adds Hoseok, "He's usually way more talkative when he cooks dinner."
"I can't believe that he's not even making any dad jokes." Yoongi sleepily contributes to the conversation. "We should try and keep his mind off of it."
The others nod in agreement. "Namjoon and Jungkook, you guys should walk home with Jin, hyung." Jimin says. "Namjoon hyung, you're smart and really observant. Jungkook, you're really fast and strong."
"So, you mean Namjoon hyung could notice if anything seems like a red flag and I could run and catch the guy if he tries something again?" Jungkook asks.
Jimin nods. "Exactly."
Everyone agrees on this and they proceed to go back to their previous activities until dinner is ready.
