"I can't believe that the store had those popsicles that I like!" Jimin said excitedly as he looked into his bag from the convenience store.
"Yeah. They're usually super hard to find." Taehyung responded before taking a sip of his yogurt. Helooked over to Jimin. "Why do you think that Jungkook asked us to go to the store?"
Jimin sighed; slightly annoyed. "I think that he's just too lazy to go for his own snacks."
"True. He's usually really lazy after school."
The sun was setting, resulting in a very pretty pinkish, orange color. The usually busy street was now close to being deserted as the two walked home. Without warning, Taehyung began to run in front of Jimin. "Race ya home, Chim Chim!"
"Hey! No fair!" Jimin tried to catch up. As he was running, he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. Wanting to check it out, he decided to give up on racing Taehyung. Jimin walked off of the path and down a small alley. There was a white tail sticking out of a box, wiggling.
Taehyung noticed that Jimin was no longer behind him. He headed back down the path calling for hisroommate. "Jimin!" There was no answer. "Jimin, where'd you go?" As Taehyung reached the alley, Jimin suddenly popped out in front of Taehyung, startling him quite a bit. "Ah! Jimin, don't do that!"
"But, Taehyung... look..."Taehyung looked down at Jimin's chest to see what he was cradling in his arms. It was a small, white cat. "Look at him! He's so cute!"
"He is, actually." Taehyung bent down a bit to pet the cat. "Wait." He examined the cat's neck."He doesn't have any tags. I think he's a stray." The cat meowed and began to squirm a bit, signaling that it was uncomfortable. Jimin adjusted his arms to accommodate the cat.
"Do you think that Namjoon hyung will let me keep him?" Jimin asked in a somewhat worried tone.
"I don't know. It's worth a try." Taehyung started walking, ahead of Jimin, back to the apartment. Jimin scurried behind Taehyung as he carried the cat in his arms.
When the two arrived home, Jin came to greet the boys at the door. However, they both refused to come inside. Jimin had his back facing the door and he was hunched over. Taehyung whispered to Jin, "Can you help us with something?" Puzzled, Jin raised an eyebrow and nodded, stepping outside and almost closing the door behind him.
"What do you need help with?" Jin asked in a whisper.
Jimin was reluctant to turn around. "Come on, Chimmy. It won't be so bad." Taehyung said to him softly. Eventually, Jimin turned around to reveal the cat that he was carrying in his arms.
Jin was overcome with wonder. "Awwww. He's so cute!"
"We think that he's a stray."Taehyung said quietly.
"So, why do you need my help?" Jin asked.
"Do you think that Namjoon hyung will let me keep him? He was looking for food when I found him."
"Poor thing." Jin stood upright and folded his arms. "Well, I don't know what Namjoon's gonna say." Jimin looked down at the cat, obviously sad. Jin looked at Jimin for a moment before saying anymore. "I bet he couldn't say no if Yoongi, Jungkook, and Hoseok all joined in asking as well."
Jimin looked up at Jin with eyes full of excitement. "Really? You think so?"
Jin nodded. "Now come on. We don't have much time until Namjoon comes home from work." The three rushed into the apartment.
About half an hour later, Namjoon walked through the door and proceeded to remove his shoes. He then walked into the living room to find everyone sitting together and staring at him. He paused, unsure of what was going on.
"WELCOME HOME, DEAR LEADER!" everyone shouted in unison. Immediately, Namjoon figured out that they all wanted something from him.
"Okay. What is it? What are going to ask me?" Namjoon put down his satchel and sat across from the rest of his roommates.
"Well, we all took a house vote and we wanted to ask you...," Jin looked to the rest of the group before they looked back and all nodded, "Would you consider letting us get a pet?" Namjoon says nothing. "We all voted yes. We just need your approval now."
Namjoon looked over next to Jimin and saw a small cardboard box. "Does it have anything to do with that box over there?" Jimin quickly looked to the box and then back to Namjoon before putting his head down and fiddling with his hands. Taehyung and Jungkook both patted Jimin on the back to calm him down. "What's in that box, Jimin?"
"A cat..." Jimin mumbled.
"A what?" Namjoon replied. "I couldn't hear you."
"It's a cat." Taehyung said. "He found it when we were on our way home today. He said that it was looking for food."
"I see..." Namjoon thought for a moment. "Fine. You can have it as a pet."
"Really?" answered an excited Jimin.
"Yes. HOWEVER...," Namjoon paused, "You need to keep it as an outside pet. We can't have animals in here. Understood?" Jimin jumped up and ran over to Namjoon, hugging him tightly.
"Thank you so much, hyung!" Before Namjoon could even try to answer, the rest of the guys all jumped on Namjoon in an attempt at a group hug.
