In Plain Sight [BTS THRILLER]

Chapter 15

The next morning, things are incredibly tense between all of the roommates. Everyone's attention is centered around Jungkook. Jin is feeling much better and is able to cook for his friends again. As everyone is eating, things are horribly quiet. They all want to talk about what Namjoon told them the previous day, but they know that they are forbidden to do so.

Jungkook is the first to finish his food. He quietly gets up and takes his dishes over to the sink to wash them. Namjoon looks over to Jimin, as if to tell him to look after Jungkook for the day. Jimin looks back to Namjoon, subtly nodding in acceptance, and quickly finishes his food before going to wash his dishes as well. Jimin grabs Jungkook's arm and the two retreat to their room, leaving the others alone to finish their food.

A short while later, Namjoon says good bye to the others and leaves for work. Jin, Hoseok, Yoongi, and Taehyung all leave, not too long after Namjoon does, to do their own things.

Now that everyone is gone, Jungkook takes the opportunity to have a private conversation with Jimin. He sits with Jimin on the bottom bunk. "Jimin..."

"Yeah?"

"What was going on with everyone this morning?"

Jimin scoots over to Jungkook so that he can speak quietly. "Namjoon said that we weren't supposed to discuss it, but he told everyone about your situation with Set yesterday."

"What made him do that?"

"Apparently, it was Taehyung. Set texted him yesterday."

Suddenly, Jungkook receives a text from Namjoon. "Jungkook. I think that I've finally figured out who Set is. I'll discuss it with you and Jimin tonight, in person."

"Who's it from? What does it say?" Jimin asks curiously.

"Hyung said that he knows who Set is and he wants to talk to us about it when he comes home tonight."

"Wow... I wonder if he really figured it out."

"I bet he did." Jungkook sets his phone aside. "We'll find out for sure when he comes home tonight."

Around 6 o'clock that evening, Jungkook decides to give Namjoon a call to see if he's off from work yet. When there is no answer, he begins to get concerned. An hour later, Jungkook, Jimin, and Jin are all worried when Namjoon isn't home. "Where do you think he is?" Jimin asks, worriedly.

"He might be working late." Jin puts on a jacket and grabs his keys. "I'll go and check to see if he left work yet. You two, stay here. I'll ask Taehyung to come home and wait with you." Both of the boys nod and Jin leaves.

Jin finally arrives at Namjoon's workplace. Walking up to Namjoon's office, he sees that the lights are out, but Namjoon's things are still inside. He walks inside and investigates Namjoon's belongings. Other than his lunch, and phone, everything seems to be in place. Jin sits in Namjoon's seat and looks through the papers on his desk. Upon closer inspection, Jin notices that the paperwork on Namjoon's desk seems to have only been completed halfway. "That's odd... Why would Namjoon leave work unfinished like this?"

Just then, one of Namjoon's coworkers walks by. "Oh! Jin! How are you?" Jin looks up and recognizes the coworker. He gets up immediately and bows apologetically.

"Hey! I'm doing well... I'm sorry. I was looking for Namjoon. Do you know where I might find him?" Jin asks the coworker.

The coworker thinks to himself for a second or two. "Sorry. I haven't seen him since he left for his lunch break."

"He never came back?" The coworker shrugs.

"I'm not sure. Sorry."

"Ah~ Thank you."
