After Jin leaves the police station, Jungkook is led to an empty interrogation room and left alone for a few minutes. The room is fairly big and pretty dim, apart from some light that was trickling in from a small window that was up towards the ceiling. He's in handcuffs and very afraid that he might be falsely charged with the murder of Namjoon.
Every time he heard footsteps coming towards the room, he was hoping that it was the officer coming in to question him; just so that he could get all of this over and done with.
Finally, his prayers are answered, and the officer from earlier walks in. He turns on the light and sits down at the table, across from Jungkook. With him, he has a notepad and a somewhat thin folder. "My name is Officer Lee. You have the right to have a lawyer present for this interrogation. You may also refuse to answer any, and all, questions asked of you during this process. Your refusal to answer cannot, and will not, be used against you in court. Do you understand?"
Jungkook nods. "Yes, I understand."
"Would you like to have a lawyer present?"
"I'm fine proceeding without a lawyer."
"Alright. Let's get started." Officer Lee takes out his pen, getting it ready to write. "So, tell me what happened. Start from the beginning. When did this guy start contacting you?"
"It was a few months ago while I was still in school. I'm not sure how much he was doing back then, but he abducted me... and my girlfriend."
"Okay," Officer Lee takes notes. "What happened after he abducted you?"
"Well, he played a really weird game with us."
"Weird how?"
"He had us answer a bunch of riddles." Officer Lee begins to take more notes before Jungkook speaks again. "It wasn't just that. He had these collars on us that he could tighten or loosen whenever he wanted. He said that if we failed, he'd tighten the collars enough to suffocate us."
The officer pauses and stares at Jungkook. "Did you go to the police?"
"No, officer..."
"Why not?"
"I just... I don't know... We were scared that he might find us again." Officer Lee is about to ask another question when he decides to not even try, so he just takes notes instead. "After that happened, Lucy and I ended up dating. A few months later, I was supposed to meet with Lucy, but she cancelled on me. It turns out that he kidnapped her. He told me that he would kill her if I went to the police."
"Why did you believe him? You should have gotten help."
"He knew everything about me and what I was doing and saying to people. He knew things about my roommate, too."
"This roommate... Is this the same roommate that was murdered?" Jungkook nods. "What was his name?"
"Kim Namjoon. He was only 23 years old..."
"What did he do for a living?"
"He was a school counselor."
"Alright, and what else happened?"
"This guy... He told me to call him Set... and he made me steal something from my hyung."
"Which one? I understand that you live with 6...er...5 older roommates?"
"Yeah. It was the one that dropped me off earlier; Jin-hyung."
"What did he make you steal?"
"Well, Jin-hyung works as a chef. Set told me to steal some knives from Jin..."
