park jimin
jimin was still waiting to be able to get a bus, so he had to walk to school. even though he was seventeen, there was no point in learning how to drive right now. his family doesn't own a car. he just plugged his ear buds into his ear, shuffling the six songs he had on the cheap ipod he got for his birthday.
jimin finally figured out his way home, getting there thirty minutes later. there was nothing special about jimin's family- they were the average korean family. except for the fact that they were extremely poor.
jimin's family wasn't always poor though. it started five years ago, when jimin's father became a drug addict. he spends more money than their family is making on these drugs. he's surprised his father is still alive.
jimin hates his father. everything is his fault. jimin doesn't even call his father dad. he calls him jae, if he talks to him anyways.
jimin just sighed, walking into their small home.
"hello, mom," he greeted, not even looking at his mother, before attempting to run to his room.
"not so fast, young man," his mother stopped him. "we're having dinner tonight. and you're helping me cook."
"wait— we're having dinner?" jimin's voice was laced with disbelief. they never had dinner.
"yes, now come," jimin's mother called.
"b-but i've got a lot of homework-."
"i don't care! we can't upset your father or he'll kill us!" jimin could feel his mothers pain.
"why don't you just divorce him?" jimin spat, throwing his bag to the ground.
"i love him!" jimin's mother yelled back.
"no, you loved him. he's not the same, and he never will be. he's toxic, mother!" jimin was tired of this stupid family. he wanted to escape. he needed to escape.
"i can change him! our family will be back to normal soon!" his mother argued.
"you can't change him, mom! you've been trying for how many years? he's ruining my life! i want to die because of that man," jimin was out of breath as he wiped away his tears.
"then leave. die! he's the man that helped create you. have respect," his mother spat, giving a deadly glare.
"i am not related to that monster! and i don't want to see him ever again!" jimin took his bag and left, the door slamming abruptly. his dad wasn't home, like always, so there was no one to chase after him. hopefully his mother doesn't tell him.
that night, jimin slept outside.
