park jimin

jimin sat alone during lunch that day. he didn't feel like seeing hoseok, his only "close-ish" friend today. and he could tell the others didn't really like him. plus he was still embarrassed over this mornings incident.

"they probably think i'm dumb," jimin sighed deeply, drawing his finger against his knee.

jimin was starving, but he didn't have any food or any money to buy food. and the luring smell of chicken didn't help either. his stomach roared.

he almost found himself crying. although jimin dressed just like the rest, he still managed to look so poor. it wasn't fair. wasn't this uniform supposed to help him cover up who he truly was?

as jimin wiped the welling tears in his eyes, he felt a light tap on his shoulder.

"hey, jimin," a tall figure towered over him, his huge dimples peeking through.

"hi... namjoon, was it?" jimin replied, vaguely recognizing the elder.

"ah, you remember me," namjoon chuckled, giving a bigger grin. there was a silhouette behind him, but jimin could barely see the other person.

"oh, taehyung!" jimin said quite shocked, not expecting him to be there.

"hi," taehyung simply smiled, he looked uncomfortable.

"do you mind if we sit with you?" namjoon asked, jimin shaking his head.

namjoon sat on one side of jimin, and taehyung sat on the other.

"where's your boyfriend?" jimin asked, looking towards namjoon.

"jinnie's tutoring him," namjoon answered, sharing another smile. it made jimin almost feel like a child- the two were smiling at him too much.

namjoon and taehyung just began to eat their lunch, taehyung eventually realizing jimin wasn't eating.

"hey, jim, did you eat already?" taehyung inquired, frowning as the boy just shook his head. "here, eat the rest of this." taehyung handed him a little more than half of a burger and some fries.

"what are you going to eat then?" jimin frowned at the thought of taehyung feeling hungry.

"i'll just watch you eat. it'll probably make me full," taehyung chuckled, jimin almost taking it as a joke. it wasn't a joke though. taehyung was hungry, but he knew jimin needed it more. it was funny- taehyung also knew that he wouldn't have thought to give his lunch to anyone else. so what makes jimin special?

"i can't eat your food, taehyung," jimin sternly said, sliding the food back.

"yes you can. now eat. the bell will ring soon." taehyung passed the food back, giving jimin a trustworthy stare. "if you won't eat it, i won't eat it."

jimin only frowned, taking the food knowing that he lost.

"i just don't want you hungry. cheer up," taehyung whispered, playfully punching the elder.

jimin smiled at that.

someone actually cares.

at home

"what the fuck, jimin! if you don't get out right now, i will poison the food that whore is making you!" jimin's father yelled at the top of his lungs, the whole neighborhood being able to hear.

"agh! don't call mom a whore!" jimin cried loudly, slamming the front door behind him as he left his house. he ran.

jimin was absolutely tired of this. it seems as if his life has just been getting worse and worse. and as soon as it attempts to get better, something pushed him off the edge.

"death seems great at this fucking point," jimin muttered to himself, having almost no energy left to even cry.

jimin was so tired that he couldn't walk one more step. he gave up everything that he had left in him, and collapsed.

a woman on the other side of the street, who had groceries in hand, quickly whipped her head to the noise. what she saw frightened her. she thought jimin was dead.

the woman ran over to jimin, not sure of what she should do.  she's never been in a situation like this, and doesn't know how to call emergency. she took out her phone, attempting to shake the boy awake.

"hello? hello! wake up!" she shook jimin's shoulder, pouring a bottle of water she had bought all over his face.

"yah!" jimin gasped, shooting up due to the cold sensation. he breathed heavily, falling back onto the pavement from exhaustion.

"boy? you okay?" the lady asked, beginning to clean up the water with the scarf she wore.

"i-i'm fine, thank you," jimin yawned, almost falling back asleep.

"you sure? why you fall?" at this point, jimin knew korean wasn't her first language. he tried to make his korean as dumb as he could.

"i was tired. i need sleep. i'm fine now," jimin smiled at the woman, and the woman smiled back.

"you. me. car... home?"

"i can walk."

"ok. goodnight!" the lady smiled brightly, her teeth shining against the sun.

jimin chuckled at how cute the lady was. "have a nice day."
