<Now Playing: Kids in America by Kim Wilde>
Kurt Wagner was exposed to such genuine care in a hurry. Evangelina Leon sparked an interest inside him, he didn't know if it was her optimism, her loving personality, or her appearance, Kurt couldn't help but feel happy around her. The two mutants wandered the school together, Jubilee joining in on their conversation. He was taken away by the friendliness of everyone at the school. It was almost strange, no one had ever treated him like this. "Well, you are not going to see it here." The dark haired girl scoffed. Kurt suddenly snapped out of his thoughts and raised an eyebrow.
She smiled and Evangelina chuckled at Jubilee's comment. Jubilee realized Kurt's confusion. "American culture, you won't see it here. The only thing American about this place is that it used to be British."
They managed to run into Scott, who had situated himself rather comfortably on a couch in the mansion. Jean was standing beside him, arms crossed, a small smirk displayed across her fair face. Evangelina waved softly towards the duo and stepped aside, letting Kurt take a good look at her friends. Evangelina's roommate took the liberty to introduce Kurt to them. "This is Scott, he's new here too," she paused, hoping that was enough to relate the two.
Scott kicked his legs up, and Evangelina instantly furrowed her dark brows at the lack of courtesy towards the mansion's furniture. He sighed in annoyance and in boredom. "And I'm already up for a prison break. What do you say we take this blue guy on a little field trip? I'm sure there's a mall around here somewhere."
The latina girl scoffed. "Aye Scott, don't say it like that. It sounds like you're going to kidnap him," she teased and Summers laughed. Kurt looked at her in panic, and she shook her head softly. "Do not worry, he won't actually do that." Kurt nodded and turned his attention back to Scott.
"What's a mall?" He blurted out. The remaining three mutants went silent. Even Jean was somewhat surprised. Jubilee's mouth dropped, the mall was her favorite place after all, it was basically her second home.
Scott let out a laugh and sat up. "What's a mall?" He repeated Kurt's last statement with surprise. "Alright. Now it's a matter of national pride. Civic duty!" Jubilee giggled and Evangelina held in a snort. Jean Grey wasn't too amused.
The redhead cocked an eyebrow, her gaze falling onto Scott Summers. "Scott," she sighed out in desperation. He gasped and shrugged his arms in defense. He smirked playfully towards the girl.
"Jean," Summers retaliated in the same tone of desperation. Jubilee shook her head in her hands, and Evangelina couldn't stop herself from laughing. Especially since she knows Jean had an instant soft spot for Scott. Yet, she didn't break her stern glare. "What? You've been cooped up here for a long time. And the Professor is not even home."
Evangelina shrugged, nearly agreeing with Scott. "I can't tell if he's right or wrong." Jubilee looked at Evita with surprised, a smile growing on her face. Evangelina glanced towards Kurt, somewhat feeling a little bit of pity, the kid had hardly experienced any fun.
