Hank McCoy was working away in his lab after gifting Scott with his new lenses. Charles didn't believe his excessive work was necessary, but Hank had hope, as cliche as that sounded. There were moments where him the Professor didn't always see eye to eye, but the scientist knew he could trust his instinct.

The grand ship he was building was his sense of hope these days. It gleamed as the lights of his lab reflected off its matte black finish. He adjusted the frames of his glasses and popped his meds in his mouth. The taste was somewhat bitter but they gave him stability, they gave him control. Hank McCoy hastily placed his lab coat on his rack and made his way outside his pristine lab.

The hue of the blue lights caused his eyes to squint, still not used to how bright they were. As the scientist strolled through the hallway, he heard a distant echo of footsteps. The steps got louder until the source of the sounds was in front of him. Hank jumped slightly, surprised at the sudden appearance of a familiar face. "Evangelina." Hank said with relief, he was glad it wasn't an intruder. "What are you doing down here? Students aren't really supposed to be here, unless you were given permission," he sighed.

The two had grown rather close. Evangelina believed she owed him and Alex her life. Hank believed that he should look after her. She had potential, and he also couldn't ignore someone as caring as she was. "Oh, I was asked by the Professor to let you know he was gone. And I don't know where else to check after I couldn't find you. I hope I didn't bother you, I'll go find Jean or Scott or algo así. I was just talking to them outside, so it shouldn't be hard too look for them again." She pointed her thumb towards the exit. He shook his head gently.

"It's okay, just let the professor know to warn me before he sends anyone down here." Hank smiled softly as he walked over beside Evita.

She pursed her lips and stuffed her hands into the pockets of her large jacket. "You got it," she clicked her tongue. He told the girl that he was done with everything in the lab. With a quick 'oh', Hank led Evita out the floor and into the elevator. The student fiddled with the handles on the elevator and Hank was cleaning the lenses on his glasses. "What's it like?" She peered forward suddenly as she shifted her balance from one side to another.

McCoy cocked an eyebrow, slightly confused. "What's what like?" He held the elevator door open for the girl. She shrugged.

"To stay here as a teacher, and building these things?" She said with blunt force. She froze and panicked at what she said. "Aye Dios!  I didn't mean to offend you, being a scientist is cool and all but I was wondering if that's all you do or will do!" She sputtered on. Hank shook his head with a small smile.

He tossed his shoulders up. "I mean, I don't think we always end up doing what we want. I enjoy working here, and building and testing things has always been my drive. Teaching and science is something I always admired as well." Hank explained to the mutant. "Though, a while back we had a team. With where we are now, I want to start it again...but the Professor doesn't approve." He sighed as he adjusted the frames of his lenses. Evangelina furrowed her eyebrows but nodded. "Why do you ask?"
