Evangelina sat down before the old wooden piano

Evangelina sat down before the old wooden piano. She's never been prouder of herself. With the help of a new friend (and roommate) by the name of Jubilee, and the company of Jean Grey, the three girls managed to tune the piano together. Jubilee was seated next to Evita on the old bench, eager to hear the skill the musician had. The red headed telepath was leaning against the piano, holding her notebooks and belongings close to her chest. "Go on, Evangelina León. Play us a symphony," Jubilee smiled brightly. Her mutation may be bright, but her smile was even brighter.

Evita nearly snorted. "Jubilee, mi amiga, I think a symphony requires multiple parts...at least that's what my mama told me," she corrected. Jubilee pressed down on a white key, the single note echoed throughout the old room.

"Well then, my friend. Play something that only one person can play." She chuckled, her black locks of hair bouncing as her laughter bounced off the walls. The argentine girl felt herself at home. It had only been two weeks yet she's never felt this comfortable around others. These students, these mutants, they all shared her problem. They could all be lost together. Eva smiled brightly and began to play. The sound of the music exploded in their ears and they didn't want to stop listening.

Evangelina had such a beautiful way of manipulating the notes and keys to make such gorgeous melodies that stuck in the mind. Her fingers felt happy, as they always loved to dance on the black and white keys. She could feel the happiness and relaxation surrounding her. Her empathic abilities opened her up to the bliss. Once she finished, Jubilee had hugged her, and Eva felt the extent of her emotions and thoughts. She made them joyful.

It had been six months. Six full months of living and growing in this school. Evangelina felt amazing. Her abilities were finally in tact, mostly, she finally understood what she can do. It didn't happen quickly, and she's still learning how to control herself, and sometimes others. Jean carried her papers and notes close to her figure while Evita had a small bag to put her things in. She still wore Alex's leather jacket like a badge.

The redhead and the brunette exited their classroom, talking amongst themselves. Evangelina always enjoyed her company. Jean knew exactly how her friend felt, it was so genuine, she could never ignore the friendship they had gained. "Today was interesting. I don't like the idea of a test though." The latina girl raised an eyebrow with a scoff. Her eyes were bright and large, taking in the colors around her. They never went away.

Jean shrugged and let out a laugh. "That's school for you." She reminded the girl, "Good thing we have close rooms, we can spend the night reviewing." She smiled softly. Eva chuckled with a shake of her head, her long, wavy hair bouncing as she did so. The two continued down the hall and through the main area of the old school. The two were immersed in their conversation, not noticing the tall teen walking forward aimlessly. Jean dropped her things as they hit each other and Evangelina reached out forward to try and pick it up, Jean had beaten her to it. With the reach of her hand, Jean made her papers slowly return back into her hands with the help of her telekinetic abilities.
