I sat on her designed sheets, holding her teddy bear, and waiting.

what was I waiting on?

to be honest, I don't know.

I wanted this all to be fake.

like it was a dream, or a lie.

I had a smile on my face today.

I was excited to see y/n.

I walked down the halls, completely ignoring  everything around me.

In my hands, held a teddy that was behind my back.

I know y/n had been wanting this one for a while.

I walked into y/n's room, her parents in the chairs next to her bed.

y/n had been doodling on a napkin with an ink pin.

she seemed pretty bored.

I slightly knocked on the rim of the door, trying to get her attention.

It worked.

once we made eye contact, she got excited and I finally got to see that beautiful smile I've missed and it hasn't even been a full day without her, until now.

"Finn!" she had so much joy in her voice.

it made me smile.

"guess what?" I was really excited to see
y/n's reaction to this.

"what?" she said energetic.

I pulled the teddy out from behind my back and put on a "surprise!" face.

she gasped and took it out of my hands.

"finn,...this- this is amazing!"

she put her hand over her mouth and I leaned in for a hug.

god, I loved being in her arms.

her beanie is so soft.

we pulled away and she just sat there, cuddling the stuffed bear.

I sat down in the chair beside her.

"so, what are you going to name it?" I asked, smiling and watched as she stroke the ears of the bear.

"hmm...what about finnie?" she laughed.

I joined in.

I then heard a knock on the door.

me and y/n looked up, her parents following.

"it's that time of day, kiddo."

the doctor had spoke.

y/n rolled her eyes.

"do I have to?"

"I know, I know, it's not fun but I promise, it will help."

I didn't like this time of day either.

as the doctor walked in, nurses followed.

I always made sure I came here in time for
y/n. to make her feel better about the process and tell her everything was going to be fine.
