Baby, baby?

I awaited anxiously in the exam room, nervous about the new doctor, but all my nervousness disappeared when he walked into the room.

"Hey, sorry I'm late!" Austin chirped, shutting the door behind him. I smiled and watch him come sit in the chair beside me. "It's fine.."

"No baby, it's not," he said taking my hand in his. "This news is going to change our lives. I need you to know I'm going to be here and I'm not going to runaway."

Before I can respond, the door opens and older man walks through.

"Hi (Y/N), I'm Dr. Lutz. I'm taking over for your previous doctor. I have your lab results here to share with you. Would you like me to share now or would you rather be in private?"

His eyes look over to Austin. He looks at me to see what my answer is. I grip his hand a little tighter. "He can stay."

The doctor nods his head and goes to sit behind his desk. A bright smile spreads across his face.

"Congratulations Mr. And Mrs. Mahone. You're having a baby!"

I look over to Austin to catch the excitement sweep him away.

"I'm gonna be a dad?"

"Yes Austin, you're gonna be a dad," Dr. Lutz says once again.

"Oh my gosh!" He chants, standing up and pulling with with him into a hug.

"we're having a baby!"
