4: Encountered

It was about 10 am and you were bored out of your mind. Kokichi was doing something god knows where, and you were just sitting in the livingroom.

"Hm..I guess I could go out for a while. What's the harm in that?" You said to yourself, you jumped up and went out the door. You headed to the shopping district, just to look around for a while. You eventually got coughed in a crowd of people witch made you uncomfortable, so you decided to go on the rooftops. You eventually got into an alley and were able to get on top of a small building, you sat on the edge while looking down at everyone.

"Hahaha..Yes, roam the streets crowded around. You all shall suffer the thing they call 'human contact'..!" You whispered to yourself, slightly giggling. You had no idea what you were doing really but you enjoyed people watching. You started humming while watching everyone then a familiar hat caught your attention. Well if it was who you thought it was, you didn't have to talk to him because you were up there, and he was down there. You chuckled to yourself

"Y/n?!" You looked down to see said hat boy, grate. He just had to notice you.

"Heya Shuichi" you responded,

"W-what are you doing?" He asked sorta yelling. You sighed, You were already seen so you might as well just go down to talk to him. You told him to hang on and went back down, being careful not to fall. You ran to the front of the building and saw Shuichi standing there, you walked up to him

"Sorry about that, didn't want to draw attention or make people think I was gonna jump." You said, putting your hands behind your back. Shuichi fixed his hat and looked at you

"Its ok.. anyway what were you doing?" He asked again

"People watching and waiting for rush hour to die down. What are you doing?" You asked, a slight teasing tone in your voice.

"Oh uh, I just got done doing something at the police department.."  he said looking down

"Oo, Police department? Well I mean you are a detective, but that's really cool..!"
The boy blushed a little

"Ah.. I'm actually more like a Detective in training. I-I can tell you about it if you want.." was he offering to hang out? After yesterday to.. well you had nothing else to do so you agreed. You guys went to a nice little food place and talked, you listened to his story's and Basically what he dose and vice versa. You told him that you did a few jobs here and there and even work for the police sometimes as a negotiator. That was something nice to have in common.

After a minute of no one talking Shuichi spoke
"I know I've said this before.. But I'm almost 100% sure I've seen you before..But not in the recent news.." you tilted your head

"Well, mister detective.. I don't mind you asking me a few things. If it bugs you that much then." You chuckled a little, the boy shifted his gaze.

"W-well I don't have any good questions at the moment..but there is something I'd like to ask.. During the second day of school we were supposed to read our essays out loud, and You didn't.  Why?" He asked, referring to the thing you weren't able to do. You shifted in your seat.

"Well, I don't like speaking in front of groups. I was barely able to introduce myself to the class remember?" You half lied, it was true you didn't like public speaking but that wasn't the reason you didn't read what you put down. Shuichi thought for a minute before looking back at you

"I guess that makes sense.. sorry.." he said shyly,

"Hey don't be sorry dude, its finee. But let me ask you something, why do you stare at me in class?" You asked, they boy blushed from embarrassment and looked away.

"W-well.. you just look so familiar.. It's on the top of my head I swear.." he glanced back up at you, looking into your (E/C) eyes. You laughed slightly

"I'm sure you'll figure it out. Anyway.." you pulled out your phone and checked the time. It was 12 now. You texted kokichi asking him if he wanted anything since you were out
"I may have to head out soon, gotta pick up a few things." Shuichi looked up

"Hey..do you an account on the school website?" He asked, you raised an eyebrow and shook your head. He told you that there was a website for students at Hope's peek, he helped me make an account. You didn't know if you would use it but eh, you also got his phone number. Didn't know why you needed that but again eh.
You two said goodbye and you went to the shopping district, and got what you needed to get- Along with what kokichi wanted.

You started back home, taking the alley as a short cut. When you got back there was a familiar purple haired boy waiting for you outside. When he saw you his face gave a happy, innocent smile.

"Y/n! There you are~" he said as you walked up to him.
"Let me know before you leaveee! I would've came with you!" He pouted, you opened the door and walked inside

"Oh come on Kokichi, you weren't even home. How about you let me know before you leave?" You said, a bit of sas in your voice. You sat the bags down and you went over to the couch. You were a little annoyed with Kokichi, he was clingy and it was like you couldn't do anything without him. You sighed.. you didn't know why he was like that but you were used to it. You glanced at your side to see kokichi staring at you, his eyes were watery

"A..are you mad at me Y/n..?" A shot of guilt stabbed into your heart, you didn't know if he was faking it or not and that made you feel worse. Did you seem mad??

"N-no..! Of course not!"
The boy ran over and hugged you, like a child who just got in trouble. He was somewhat of a convincing munipalter and he did stuff like this often to get what he wanted, but sometimes you couldn't tell and this was one of those times. You ran your hand though the boys hair, it was surprisingly soft. You guys stayed like this for a minute before he pulled away, looking down.

"hey.. I got you some of your favorite tea, want me to make you some?" you offer, the boy looks up at you and nods. Even if he was faking it, he knew your weaknesses.. his childish ways, innocent look, it got you every time. You made the tea and gave it to him, you had a cup for yourself to. You two sat in a comfortable silence.. it was quiet relaxing. Kokichi glanced over at you and broke the silence

"Sooo Y/n.. Did anything interesting happen while you were out? Did you pull any cool pranks?!" He asked happily, slightly kicking his legs.

"Mm..No not really. Though I did see Shuichi, we talked for a while and it was pretty nice" you said taking a sip of your tea. Kokichi looked at you for a moment, looked down and then back up to you with his usual smile

"Woww! Your so good at making friends! I'm so jealous, I want to be friends with Shuichi to" you raised an eyebrow

"Well.. if that's not a lie you can Kokichi. Nothing's stopping you..And I wouldn't say we're friends, he's just nice to talk to." You said, setting down your now empty cup. Kokichi hummed

"Hmhmhmm.. Well let's see~! But no one will ever beat you in my bestfriend list" he cooed, you chuckled slightly. You would like to assume that was true. Even if it wasn't for him, it was true for you. Even if you started to make new friends, obviously kokichi would always be number one to you.
